Senior QA Engineer - iTwin Applications

Position Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Quality Assurance Engineer to help shape the future of engineering applications and workflows, spanning cloud and desktop and utilising the bleeding-edge technologies that are part of Bentley’s unique and rapidly growing Digital Twin ecosystem, including AI/ML, IoT, and Reality Data.

Successful candidates will join a highly skilled international team, reporting directly to the Divisional CTO, in a highly visible, mission-critical role. In this role, you will maintain and expand the automated test suite for the platform on which the next generation of engineering applications is built.

You will bring demonstrable experience in automated QA for cloud or hybrid cloud/desktop solutions, knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, enthusiasm for cutting-edge technologies, and a drive to continuously experiment, challenge yourself, and learn. 

 

We will rely on you for the following:

 

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites to ensure software quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand new features and updates, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies, providing detailed information for the development team to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Advocate for quality assurance best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse test results, generate reports on software performance and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage the integration of automated tests into the continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability tests on cloud and desktop applications.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and tools in quality assurance, integrating them into testing practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

What You Bring to The Team:

 

  • Proven experience in automated QA, particularly with cloud or hybrid cloud/desktop solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, particularly JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, including test case management and defect tracking systems.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) systems.
  • Experience with source code version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative international team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

 

What would make you stand out:

 

  • Experience with modern automated testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Jest, etc.)
  • Experience with Bentley Systems products or similar engineering software applications.
  • Knowledge of agile scrum development, continuous delivery, and DevOps processes.
  • Experience with web-based desktop application frameworks (Electron, Tauri, WebView2, etc.).
  • Web frontend design technologies (HTML, CSS).
  • Experience with AI/ML is a plus.
