Position Summary:
The Test Automation Intern will gain hands-on experience in software quality and automated testing while working closely with experienced engineers in a collaborative development environment. Under close supervision and mentorship, the intern will learn how automated tests are designed, implemented, executed, and maintained as part of the software development lifecycle. The role focuses on creating new automated tests to extend coverage, improving and stabilizing existing test suites, and supporting defect investigation and resolution. This internship is ideal for students with a foundation in software development who are interested in test automation, software quality, and modern DevOps practices, and who are eager to learn through practical, real‑world projects with ongoing feedback and guidance.
Responsibilities:
Under close supervision and mentorship, the Test Automation Intern will:
- Learn and apply the fundamentals of automated test development, including writing, executing, and debugging automated tests
- Design and implement new automated tests to extend test coverage for new and existing product features
- Support the development team in maintaining and improving existing automated test suites, including enhancing reliability and resolving flaky tests
- Investigate, reproduce, and assist in resolving software defects, collaborating closely with developers and testers
- Contribute to test documentation, internal technical documentation, and test execution reports
- Work on small, well-defined tasks while adhering to established architectures, design patterns, and coding standards
- Apply basic DevOps and CI/CD practices related to test automation, such as executing automated tests in build pipelines
All work is regularly reviewed by senior team members, with ongoing feedback, guidance, and learning support.
Qualifications:
- Candidate for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, .NET, Java, C#, or similar)
- Interest in software quality, testing, and automation
- Basic understanding of software testing types (unit, integration, system, UI)
- Basic understanding of fundamental software development concepts (control structures, data types, basic OOP)
- Experience using standard development tools (e.g., Git, IDEs, build tools)
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a collaborative team environment
