Application Support Engineer

Location: Poland (Office-Based, Hybrid, Home-Based)

We are looking for a Application Support Engineer, who will collaborate with multiple teams to develop practical solutions that meet customers' business needs and ensure positive user experiences at every touchpoint. Your key role will involve reshaping traditional IT practices, assisting users and developers in overcoming operational challenges in cloud computing, creating and implementing automated solutions, managing operational emergencies and incidents, and constructing scalable and resilient cloud-native systems. Working closely with the Software Development and Cloud Engineers, your objective will be to deliver operational excellence, cost-effective services and solutions, and top-tier consultancy

Your Day-to-Day:

• Offer technical application support to both internal and external users, addressing complex inquiries at a code level related to the function and usage of Bentley online services. This includes, but is not limited to, system configuration/setup, product functionality, issue analysis/resolution through reverse-engineering, and product enhancements.
• Assist globally distributed software development and QA teams in identifying optimal solutions and approaches for addressing challenges related to cloud-based services.
• Design, implement and maintain monitoring and alerting for various systems and services.
• Take part in the on-call duty rotations for 24/7 operation.

What You Bring to The Team:

• Proactive approach for identifying issues, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
• Self-motivated and innovative mindset with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Good understanding of relational databases (eg. Microsoft SQL Server), database querying (SQL) and troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, as well as fluent in English.

It would be awesome, if you have:

• Experience of Automation and scripting for re-usability and consistency
• Understanding of the Azure cloud platform, networking, virtualization and containerization, identity, security and storage
• Expertise and proficiency in defining operations in code, utilizing version control, peer review, and CI/CD for seamless deployment of changes to both applications and infrastructure.
• Experience or knowledge of Bentley products like ProjectWise, MicroStation.
