Position Summary

Bentley Systems Singapore is seeking to hire a software research engineer to join the team working on high-fidelity digital twin for water systems. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for development and implementation of algorithms and analytics for operational management of smart water grid in the context of using near real-time data for calibrating hydraulic models, constructing machine learning and advanced data-driven models. The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to be a multidisciplinary engineer with hydraulic (physics-based) modeling, good software development skills, and passion for developing and applying the high-fidelity digital twin technology to improve urban water distribution system operation. Responsibilities

  • Work with a global team to develop and maintain Bentley’s smart water grid digital twin solutions
  • Solve complicated smart water grid problems by simulation and optimization techniques together with data analytics over sensor data and hydraulic models.
  • Formulate, implement and benchmark the effective algorithms for addressing the challenging problems.
  • Communicate and collaborate with teams.
  • Motivate to learn and explore new technologies as needed
  • Commit yourself to continuous learning and adapting to and integrating new technologies

Requirements

  • MS or Ph.D (preferred) in Civil & Environmental engineering, computer science, software engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 1+ years’ commercial software experience as a software engineer or equivalent
  • Solid skills and deep knowledge in C/C++, C#, Python,
  • Track record in data-driven and simulation/optimization research and software applications with preference in water distribution system analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Proven thought leadership in publishing peer-reviewed technical papers and giving presentations at international conferences
  • Must be proactive and results-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly, and apply them in development practices
