Resource Manager - APAC

Bentley Systems seeks to hire a Resource Manager to support our business in APAC region.  This multi-dimensional role will report to the Sr. Resource Manager of the Digital Advancement Group, who is responsible for all resourcing in the region in support of our Product Advancement Group (PAG) leaders.

 

The Resource Manager will be a consultative member of the delivery leadership team acting as the first-point-of contact for PAG leaders for management-level understanding of Advancement Group resource supply/demand readiness, current and anticipated utilization and source of recommendations for improving utilization rates. 

The Resource Manager will lead staffing efforts for PAG projects.  In doing this work, the Resource Manager will:

  • identify best-available resources for position vacancies
  • ensure colleague readiness and availability for forecasted work,
  • analyze and report on current and future resource skills,
  • compare resource supply against forecasted demand and backlog,
  • facilitate resource allocation discussions where delivery priorities are not clear 

 

The Resource Manager will operate independently with general direction. Other responsibilities include:

  • Obtain overall understanding of the PS business and Bentley solutions. Ability to clarify specific resource needs and technical competencies and essential skills of resources for resource deployment purposes.
  • Leverage technical tools to report on, evaluate and interpret current resource utilization and existing skills and experience in the resource pool. Coordinate with resources to update information in Professional Service Automation (PSA) system. Use multiple reporting tools and systems to manage data and analysis.
  • Identify patterns in data and potential causes for concerns such as underutilization of resources. Create and deliver reports from systems that forecast upcoming resource needs and identifies any skills gaps in the resource pool.
  • Communicate with Project Managers, PAG Leaders to ensure information is updated before reporting deadlines. Facilitate resolution in the event resource allocation conflicts occur.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in a Resource Management Office or in an internal Professional Services Operations role with patterns of success in the following areas:

  • Carry out responsibilities that contribute to role of own department within the organization.  Seek guidance when assigned goals conflict with departmental goals or overall strategy.  Assess situations based on awareness of the goals and operating issues of own department.  Work to resolve obstacles related to goals of own department.  Documents regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Apply data analysis and data modeling techniques to establish, modify, and maintain business data structures and associated components.  Collect required business data through various data sources.  Investigate data requirements in the business data analysis process.  Utilize designated data analysis software (both internal and external) to analyze business data.  Writes analysis reports to assist decision making at the senior level.
  • Assist in assessing risks, benefits and consideration of alternatives.  Participate in documenting data, ideas, players, stakeholders, and processes.  Apply an assigned technique for critical thinking in a decision-making process.  Recognize, clarifies, and prioritize concerns.  Identify, obtain, and organize relevant data and ideas.
  • Demonstrate both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.  Review others' writing or presentations and provide feedback and coaching.  Adapt documents and presentations for the intended audience.  Maintain focus on the topic at hand.  Employ appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement.  Communicate well downward, upward, and outward.

 

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Professional Services Resource Management and/or Business Operations Environment.
  • High aptitude for software systems. Experience Professional Service Automation (PSA) systems a plus.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel a must.
  • Excellent communications skills with a demonstrable history of building and keeping trusting business relationships.
  • Ability to lead and influence at all levels in the organization.
  • Able to critically examine the status quo and develop new, simple solutions to old problems.
  • Able to collect and analyze data from disparate sources and develop an understanding of the message, articulate the message in clear language comprehensible at all levels.
  • Strong service-minded approach.
  • History of putting team before self.
