Senior Technical Implementaion Consultant 

 

Location: Remote, UK  

 

Travel may be required up to 20% of the working time. Potentially to international customers, based on project demands. 

 

Position Summary: 

Bentley Systems seeks a talented individual to serve as a Senior Consultant for our AssetWise Transportation solutions. We provide professional services to users of Bentley’s Asset Management software suite, used by owners and managers of roadway assets and other infrastructure assets.  

 

We are currently undertaking a wide ranging high profile progamme across our user base. The Senior Consultant will primarily work as part of the dedicated programme team, understanding requirements, configuring and testing solutions, creating documentation and delivering training to our customers.   

 

The Senior Consultant will work directly with business and IT stakeholders to translate operational workflows into functional requirements to deliver best practice processes.  

  

This role will be based remotely as part of a larger, global, team reporting to the Director for Transportation Services. 

 

Your Day-to-Day: 

  • Act as Solution Team Leader on large projects  

  • Configure and deliver multiple complex solutions applying in-depth knowledge of workflows, system configuration and best practice to develop technical solutions for our customers  

  • Responsible for architecting, designing, documenting, and prototyping the associated technical solutions for the system configuration to be implemented  

  • Lead the facilitation/documentation of system design workshops, process reengineering workshops and the creation of project and system documentation including architecture, process maps, system requirements, data standards, and training materials  

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to execute agreed project delivery plan, assess progress and identify risks  

  • Provide technical leadership throughout the lifecycle of a project including development, testing, and deployment of technical solutions and ongoing support  

  • Serving as the conduit between the user community (internal and external users) and the software development team through which requirements flow.  

  • Draft, update and maintain functional and business requirements documents  

  • Create and execute test plans based on user requirements  

  • Manage the coordination of data modelling and data collection activities  

  • Understand our customer’s business challenges and requirements to ensure that technical solutions address the stated needs of the client and identify areas of opportunity and advise on best practice  

  • Identify risks in project processes and delivery plans and work with the wider team to improve such areas 

  • Acting as an advocate for the end-user within the project delivery team  

  • Seeking continuous improvements in implementation of processes and procedures and deliver independently or with the team  

  • Mentor, support and guide junior team members  

 

What You Bring to The Team: 

  • 7+ years’ experience within a similar industry  

  • 4+ years’ experience working within Asset intensive industries, preferably linear assets, e.g. highways or rail 

  • Experience of working closely with customers and in delivering complex projects from requirements gathering, implementation through to go-live support  

  • Experience of working with databases (e.g. MSSQL, Oracle)  

  • Experience with SQL to:  

  • Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL 

  • Develop procedures and scripts for data migration 

  • Knowledge of other technologies would be advantageous e.g. Oracle, IIS, Geo-spatial services (WMS, WFS, Geo JSON, MapServer), Cloud hosting 

  • Understanding of data replication technologies  

  • Experience working for Application Service Provider (ASP) or Software as a service (SaaS) company  

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment with moving timescales and strict deadlines  

  • Excellent problem-solving skills that will help quickly identify and resolve issues  

 

The following would be desirable: 

  • Knowledge of GIS and/or CAD  

  • Understanding of linear referencing 

  • Professional software accreditations (e.g. IBM Maximo professional certifications; Agile DSDM Practitioner Certification would be highly desirable) or relevant training and /or experience 

  • AssetWise for Roads and Bridges or similar (e.g. ESRI Roads and Highways; dTIMS; AgileAssets; AASSHTOWare) 

  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services 

  • Familiarity with Agile software delivery techniques  

  • Experience implementing and integrating 3rd party application
