Senior Software Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Lithuania (Home-based, Hybrid or Office-based)

Position Summary:

Bentley Systems is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our SYNCHRO team.  The candidate will be working on a multi-region backend service responsible for handling binary schedule files. This service is a core component of the SYNCHRO product group, serving as the source of truth for schedule data and enabling real-time collaboration between multiple users, including conflict resolution.

The architecture includes:

• A RESTful API that serves as the primary entry point for clients.
• Azure Functions for low-latency processing of small files.
• Azure Batch for compute-intensive processing of larger files.
• Azure Blob Storage for storing binary files.
• Azure SQL Database for storing metadata.

The codebase is modern and actively maintained. The API is fully covered by integration tests using the Reqnroll framework (formerly SpecFlow), with test scenarios written in Gherkin to support clear and collaborative test definitions.

The team follows Agile practices (Kanban) with regular code reviews and a CI/CD pipeline for automated deployments. Monitoring is handled through Application Insights, with detailed logging available via SEQ. The development environment is based on Azure DevOps.

We will rely on you for the following:

• Write high-quality C# code using the latest .NET stack.
• Cover your code with unit and integration tests.
• Manage full software development life-cycle.
• Participate in software design discussions and reviews.
• Deploy live multi-region services.

What You Bring to The Team:

• Experience in backend software development.
• Extensive knowledge of the .NET ecosystem.
• Extensive knowledge of REST services.
• Experience in Azure or other cloud provider. CI/CD Mindful of end-user impact.

Please note if you are employed full-time, the salary for this position ranges from 4500 EUR gross (before taxes-Lithuania) depending on knowledge and experience.
