Position Summary:

 

The Risk and Resiliency Manager is responsible for guiding the oversight and execution of Bentley’s enterprise compliance risk management, global business resiliency, and crisis response programs. This newly designed role is responsible for overseeing and maturing risk management across the company to safeguard against potential risks while enabling growth and continuity. The Risk and Resiliency Manager will also proactively lead risk assessments to identify risks and advise the business on risk prioritization and the execution of risk-mitigation strategies. This role will drive the continued evolution of Bentley’s risk management and compliance strategies with developing a resiliency and crisis response program. The Risk and Resiliency Manager will report directly to the VP, Chief Compliance Officer and act as a strategic business partner to leadership and other stakeholders, while coordinating global compliance, risk mitigation, and crisis preparedness activities across the company.


Responsibilities:

 

Specific responsibilities of the Risk and Resiliency Manager will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management and compliance strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with established IT and SOX compliance teams to ensure alignment between controls, operational processes, and risk management objectives and programs.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across the organization; carries out risk assessments and develops risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts.
  • Oversee the implementation of risk management policies and practices, ensuring they are integrated into daily operations.
  • Lead the development, management, and regular testing of business continuity and crisis response plans to ensure critical operations remain functional during disruptions, emergencies, or crises.
  • Establish, oversee, and test Bentley’s crisis management and crisis response programs, ensuring decision-making structures and rapid response protocols are in place for effective governance and leadership during emergencies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional crisis response teams to ensure timely communication, escalation, and resolution of incidents, minimizing impact on business functions and operations.
  • Develop and implement organization-wide training and awareness initiatives to prepare colleagues at all levels for crisis response and recovery procedures.
  • Conduct after-action reviews of crisis events and exercises, identifying lessons learned and driving continuous improvement in crisis and emergency response capabilities.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional teams to develop, assess, and implement new business processes that align with strategic objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory standards in partnership with appropriate Law and Corporate Advancement, Colleague Success, and other business partners.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management and the board on compliance and risk management status, including emerging trends and risks.
  • This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week, office-based, hybrid, or home-based in the US.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling, and meeting functions.
  • This role requires up to 15% travel.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Emergency Management, a related field, or equivalent training and experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in enterprise risk management, business resiliency, crisis response, or risk advisory within a global organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging executive leadership and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with proficiency in risk assessment tools and technologies.
  • Familiarity with crisis management, crisis response, business continuity frameworks, and best practices in organizational resilience.
  • Ability to navigate complex geopolitical, regulatory, and business environments.
