ProjectWise & Civil Engineering Consultant (Road/Rail)

 

Location: Italy (Home-based)

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a Technical Consultant with strong, hands‑on experience in both ProjectWise and Civil engineering design tools (Road and/or Rail). The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of CDE/EDMS environments and civil infrastructure workflows, enabling them to guide major engineering organizations across EMEA in the effective adoption of Bentley’s ProjectWise and Civil solutions.

In this role, you will configure and support ProjectWise environments, optimize collaborative design processes, and provide expert guidance on Civil platforms such as OpenRoads, OpenRail, or Autodesk Civil 3D. You will work closely with engineering teams, IT specialists, and senior stakeholders to ensure efficient, standards‑driven project delivery across large, multi‑disciplinary infrastructure programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

Technical Implementation & Support

  • Lead the adoption of ProjectWise, CDE/EDMS platforms, and Bentley Civil solutions within major accounts.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot ProjectWise, EDMS systems, and Civil engineering applications.
  • Maintain system standards, data structures, and collaborative workflows across projects.

Consulting & Solution Architecture

  • Conduct workshops to gather and document business and functional requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into robust system configurations and enhancement recommendations.
  • Take ownership of end‑to‑end solution design to ensure successful business outcomes.

Training & Customer Enablement

  • Deliver administrator and user training, including hands-on mentoring and over-the-shoulder support.
  • Prepare and present solution designs, progress updates, and best practices to customer stakeholders.

Project Execution & Collaboration

  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and proactively resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with distributed teams and coordinate with other consultants as required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with users, technical teams, and senior management.

 

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in engineering document management or CDE environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Bentley ProjectWise (or similar engineering EDMS platforms).
  • Experience with Civil design tools (OpenRoads, OpenRail, or Autodesk Civil 3D).
  • Understanding of engineering and construction documentation workflows.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation capabilities.
  • Fluency in Italian and English at a native or near-native level.
  • Ability to work effectively within virtual and distributed teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred

  • Experience troubleshooting Windows servers, fileservers, databases, networks, and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with large-scale civil infrastructure project workflows (Road, Rail, Transportation).
