Bentley Systems is the infrastructure engineering software company, advancing the world’s infrastructure—sustaining both the global economy and the environment. Within Bentley, the Design organization shapes meaningful experiences—from brand to in-product interactions—with clarity, coherence, and craft.
An integral part of this work lies with the Design System team, a multidiscipline group that looks at web and product experiences across Bentley and creates experiences and solutions that meet the needs of our users and the company. By building a world-class design system with a strong set of foundational guidelines, and reusable patterns while baking in accessibility support at its core, the team ensures that all services unite under the Bentley brand in a way that is highly functional.
As a member of the Bentley Design System team, you will use your knowledge and expertise to drive our Front-End Development strategy, with a particular focus on the coding and adoption of our components and patterns. You will collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, Software Engineers, internal and external subject matter experts, and of course, users to understand the requirements for and ultimately the delivery of our component library codebase and supporting assets. These will be used by our larger team of software developers to create high quality product solutions at speed, improving coherence across our larger product ecosystem, and working towards the global maxima.
You will also partner with our designers to develop our Figma component library to get as close to 1-to-1 parity as possible, to ensure our products can be built at speed and to the same high standards of our designs. You will also partner with our Accessibility Initiative to ensure that our Design System meets AA Standards with supporting functionality baked into components. This role will allow you to demonstrate your mastery of front-end development and your capability of leading a team of software developer professionals. You will maximize and measure the value of contributions to our codebase, keep management and project stakeholders informed of progress, and be a trusted contact to communicate Design System advancements on a higher level.
