Position Summary:
The License Compliance Specialist will lead software license compliance initiatives across the Middle East and the wider EMEA region. This role is responsible for designing and executing strategies to protect the company’s intellectual property, ensure customer compliance with license agreements, and drive revenue recovery through formal and informal engagements. The successful candidate will work closely with legal, sales, finance, and partner teams to enforce compliance programs and build trusted customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a regional strategy for software license compliance that aligns with global objectives
- License Management:
- Plan, manage, and oversee pipeline development and revenue growth in the Middle East and the wider EMEA region
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (legal counsel, technical experts, Sales)
- Investigate and build non-compliance campaigns using Bentley tools (SnowFlake, SalesForce, Usage Reports etc.) and external resources (LinkedIn, Web Scraping, etc)
- Risk Mitigation & IP Protection:
- Identify high-risk markets and accounts; proactively address non-compliance risks
- Implement best practices to reduce piracy, unauthorized usage, and licensing breaches
- Collaboration:
- Partner with Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to support compliance-related revenue opportunities
- Work with local authorities to identify different ways in which Bentley LC can leverage local laws in our engagements
- Strategize with local Intellectual property law firms to evaluate the most effective way to resolve EULA infractions
- Metrics & Reporting:
- Establish KPIs for all revenue programs and deliver regular reports to global leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training or experience
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in software license compliance, license audit management, IP protection, or a related field
- Understanding of software licensing models, cloud subscription models, and IP laws
- Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills
- Data investigation skills with knowledge of how to read and report on Excel Spreadsheets and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance compliance enforcement and customer relationship management
- High integrity, strategic mindset, and ability to operate in complex, matrixed organizations
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
