Position Summary:

 

Market Development Global Chief of Staff will be responsible for the operational processes, data models, operating cadences, and cross-functional alignment required to scale Bentley’s Market Development business worldwide.

 

The role will drive the leadership strategy into execution. The CoS will ensure Bentley consistently identifies, influences, and wins the world’s most complex infrastructure and capital project opportunities in leveraging process and best practice from one win to the next and informing global scale. The role functions as the strategic right-hand to the Vice President of Market Development, transforming growth ambition into repeatable operating reality.

 

This is a senior business-building role responsible for establishing the Market Development operating model and driving cross-enterprise alignment to deliver sustained Market Development growth.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Market Development Operating Model
    • Design and implement the global Market Development operating model, ensuring consistency, scalability, and regional adaptability.
    • Define standardized processes for mega-project identification, qualification, and pursuit management.
    • Establish operating rhythms, project review cadences, and decision frameworks that provide executive visibility and prioritization of strategic pursuits.
    • Build sustainable mechanisms for sharing best practices and win-learnings across regions.
  • Project Pursuit & Bid Excellence
    • Define and institutionalize the end-to-end lifecycle for major project pursuits — from early-stage influence through procurement.
    • Co-develop scalable bid and proposal processes, templates, and quality standards in partnership with the proposal team, aligned to Market Development priorities.
    • Oversee internal RFP/RFI response orchestration to ensure timely, high-quality, and differentiated submissions.
  • Performance Management & Analytics
    • Design KPI frameworks and dashboards that measure Market Development effectiveness, including:
      • Pipeline of strategic projects
      • Early-stage influence coverage
      • Bid participation and win rates
      • ARR and long-term revenue developed
      • Adapt CRM and analytics platforms to capture project-specific data beyond standard opportunity tracking.
      • Deliver executive reporting and actionable insights to guide investment, prioritization, and resource allocation decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration
    • Serve as the primary connective link between Market Development, Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal.
    • Translate market and project requirements into Product roadmaps and solution strategy.
    • Partner with Marketing to develop segment-specific content, case studies, and competitive positioning assets.
    • Build Market Development enablement programs for Sales and Technical field teams. Is this an individual contributor role or requires people Management.
  • This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week.
  • This is an individual contributor role reporting to the VP, Market Development.
  • This role requires communication with Managers, peers and other colleagues of the company in person, and/or by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10–12+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Enablement, Industry Marketing, AEC industry management, Business Operations, or Strategy within SaaS or enterprise software environments.
  • Demonstrated experience building new operating models and GTM execution frameworks from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with capital project ecosystems (owners, EPCs, consultants, and procurement processes) strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in CRM, analytics/BI tools, and project management platforms.
  • Exceptional cross-functional influence, executive communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to translate strategic ambition into repeatable operational execution.
  • Willingness to travel globally as required.
