Reliability Engineer

 

Location: South Africa or UAE. This role can also be Remotely based within South Africa OR UAE

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented individual to serve as a Reliability Engineer (Consultant) to translate engineering background and knowledge into software configuration and consultancy solutions.

 

The role would be working with the AssetWise Reliability (APM) software product, from the Bentley Systems parent company, inside the Cohesive Professional Services organization. This role reports to the Services Director responsible for project delivery using the AssetWise Reliability software. Cohesive provides professional services to users of the Bentley Asset Management software suite used by owners and managers of infrastructure assets.

 

The Reliability Engineer will collect requirements, implement software solutions including testing, providing documentation and training and be involved in promoting solutions to new users as well as supporting existing users and systems.

 

This role will ideally be based in South Africa to support EMEA and Middle East projects working with colleagues, teams and projects spread throughout EMEA. 

 

Travel will be expected around 25% of the working time to client sites throughout the Middle East and if needed, globally based on project demands.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Working with the AssetWise Reliability (APM) software product and associated tools
  • Participating as part of a team in the solution definition of user projects by translating requirements and processes into functional design for configuration and addition into software
  • Draft functional and business requirements documents
  • Update and maintain functional and business requirements document
  • Assist with project work estimates
  • Working day to day with the software, configuring the overall solution to the requirements of the end user. This could be new project implementations or extensions and additions to existing systems
  • Create and execute test plans based on user requirements
  • Proactively communicating and collaborating with external and internal users and stakeholders to analyse information needs and functional requirements and deliver requirements documents as needed
  • Working within the team to identify and validate business objectives and generating/proposing solutions that align with AssetWise Reliability (APM) business strategy and standards
  • Successfully engaging in multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to conduct remote and face-to-face training to end-users and system administrators
  • Ability to participate in technical meetings and workshops in relation to the implementation of the software or technical tasks

 

What You Bring to The Team:

  • 3 - 5 years Reliability expertise - Working knowledge of Reliability concepts, RCM, FMEA, RBI, Asset Prioritization, Failure Analysis, maintenance, inspection, etc. ideally within industrial locations/plants 
  • 3 years of experience of working with Reliability focused software and processes, software implementation and configuration 
  • Experience of analyzing business processes and translating this into software configuration 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related field of Reliability, Inspection and Maintenance is preferred or relevant training and /or experience
  • Strong problem solving skills; Demonstrable experience of troubleshooting complex processes, software issues and software configuration 
  • Customer stakeholder management, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret user business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, engineers and subject matter experts 
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity whilst working to deadlines
  • Proven people skills with an emphasis on teamwork 
  • Ability to work unsupervised under minimal supervision, with wide latitude for independent action or under the direction of an assigned Project Manager 
  • Ability to travel to user sites and Bentley/Cohesive office locations
