Software Engineer II, Structural

 

Location: Pune, Hybrid

Position Summary:

Bentley is investing in the next generation of its industry‑leading structural analysis and design portfolio. We are seeking a Structural Engineering Software Developer with a strong passion for creating commercial‑grade engineering applications used by professionals worldwide. In this role, you will contribute directly to the advancement of our core analysis engines, implement and maintain international design codes, and develop innovative analysis and design capabilities that tens of thousands of structural engineers rely on each day.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain core structural engineering modules with a strong focus on finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Translate structural engineering principles and international design code requirements into robust, reliable software algorithms.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain verification and validation (V&V) benchmarks, automated regression tests, and related quality‑assurance artifacts.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive documentation of engineering assumptions, algorithms, methodologies, and known limitations for both internal teams and external users.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—including software engineering, quality assurance, product management, and technical support—to ensure high‑quality product development and delivery.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in the structural or civil engineering domain.
  • Strong foundational understanding of structural and civil engineering principles, supported by solid mathematical proficiency.
  • Experience interpreting and applying structural design codes such as AISC, ACI, IS, Eurocodes, and related standards.
  • Proficiency in at least any one of the programming languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
