Senior software Engineer

Location: Office-Based Pune / Hybrid Pune

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining modern web applications for the Bentley Infrastructure Cloud product line. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in React based frontend development, cloud native solutions on Microsoft Azure, and CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps. The position offers the opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies, collaborate with global, cross functional teams, and deliver high quality, user centric solutions that support Bentley’s infrastructure and engineering products.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable, production-grade front-end applications using React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+), with strong focus on maintainability, accessibility, and performance.
• Own front-end architecture and technical design decisions, applying responsive design, object-oriented principles, and proven design patterns to deliver intuitive, user-friendly UI/UX and navigation.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering workflows responsibly, using developer copilots and intelligent tooling to accelerate scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, and analysis while ensuring code quality, security, and production readiness through human judgment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams to analyse requirements, solve complex problems, and propose effective technical solutions and workflows.
• Take full ownership of production-level code, adhering to coding standards, participating in code reviews, debugging and root-causing complex issues, and maintaining clear technical documentation.
• Leverage Azure and Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, builds, deployments, and operational readiness, contributing to performance optimization, scalability considerations, and agile delivery practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science or engineering, with a strong foundation in software engineering and frontend web development.
• 8+ years of professional web application development experience, with deep expertise in frontend engineering and 3+ years of hands-on React experience building complex, production-scale applications.
• Strong command of object-oriented design, frontend architecture, and engineering best practices, with the ability to design scalable, maintainable, and high-quality UI solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and logical thinking skills, capable of independently driving solutions for complex technical and product challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively across product, design, and backend teams in a cross-functional environment.
• Senior-level ownership mindset, including operating with minimal supervision, maintaining high engineering standards, and delivering reliably under pressure and tight timelines.
