Position Summary:

 

The Program Manager works collaboratively with an assigned user to identify and successfully deliver strategic outcomes. Bentley is looking for a program manager with extensive Oil and Gas experience to be the keystone between user stakeholders, Bentley’s delivery organization and Account Management team to fully understand user vision and desired outcomes.  Based on this understanding the Program Manager builds a comprehensive Program Plan to drive continuous improvement, successfully deliver agreed goals and oversees all aspects of the plan: the progress, the communication, and the resources involved.

 

Your Day to Day:

 

A Program Manager:

  • Owns the delivery aspects of the customer relationship (In coordination with sales principals assigned to the user) and assists to proactively manage risk, resolve conflicts and advance Bentleys footprint in the user.
  • Is able to articulate a strategic vision based on the user environment and industry trends.
  • Agrees and works with user stakeholders to build a forward-looking roadmap to achieve user and Bentley objectives.
  • Develops with the user appropriate KPIs and targets that effectively measure performance and demonstrate to all party’s continuous improvement.
  • Is responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of multiple, related projects, directed toward strategic business and organizational objectives.  This includes the oversight of complex activities that may span functions, organizations companies and may extend to external vendors.
  • Builds credibility, establishes rapport and maintains communication with stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to the organization.
  • Defines and initiates projects within a program and ensures the assignment of Project Managers to manage the cost, schedule and performance of component projects.
  • Maintains continuous alignment of the program scope with the strategic business objectives and makes recommendations to modify the program to enhance effectiveness toward the business result or strategic intent.
  • Develops and earns the approval of program structure and policies and artifacts such as governance requirements and processes, stakeholder communications formats and cycles and ensures adherence to same.
  • Accepts ownership for accomplishing new and different requests sometimes not related to the program in service to the user’s needs; often proactively explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Direct the efforts of Project Managers (PMs) when they are engaged on account projects.
  • Provide an escalation for PMs under the program remit in order to address resource challenges, scope, issue, risk and other items where the PMs need guidance and to ensure deliverables and results are consistent with overall intent of the User.

 

What you Bring to the Team:

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree, college diploma in a technical field, or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience and/or certification in business analysis.
  • Experience and/or certification in information technology.
  • Certifications in Program Management, such as the PMP or PgMP certification is highly desirable, or extensive proven experience required.

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience with information management challenges in an oil and gas business (relevant domain experience is critical).
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ work experience in a Project Management capacity, especially on projects involving software configuration, training, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Familiar with organization change management aspects of delivering technology programs.
  • Experience with both Fixed Price, Pre-paid, and T&M projects.
  • Experience with sales and formal bidding processes.
  • Experience with complex projects (High risks, high costs, long term).
  • Knowledge and experience in project execution including but not limited to Risk Management, Scope Management, Budget Management, Stakeholder Management, Resource Management, Schedule Management, Change Management/Control, Issue Management.
