Principal Consultant, Physical Asset Management

Position Summary:

Working as a leading asset management Advisory Consultant and Solutions Architect for APM technology, including reliability engineering on large projects, you will support various business transformation and technology definition programs and projects across EMEA and globally. The role will require you to:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in asset performance, reliability engineering, and ISO 55000 asset management systems.
  • Engaging with new opportunities to win work and developing and coordinating the development of complex proposals.
  • Support clients in defining services and technology solutions to optimise the performance of physical asset portfolios.
  • Adding to and enhancing the existing knowledge base in asset management.
  • Engaging with and supporting other consultants around the world within the Bentley Systems network.
  • Supporting and engaging with the broader professional community such as IAM, SMRP, RelaibilityWeb, and SAAMA.
  • Negotiating proposals to contract.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in the field of asset management.
  • You need a hands-on understanding and proven results from asset Optimization and Asset performance management projects.
  • Proven industry experience to optimize value delivery from physical asset portfolio over its life cycle.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

As a member of one of the leading global asset management solutions and advisory providers, within Bentley Systems, every day will be different. One day, you will consult with a new customer who does not understand ISO 55000 and requires foundational maintenance optimisation interventions. The next day, you may be working with a blue-chip logo that wishes to optimise its asset management practices through cutting-edge strategies, processes, and technology.

In addition to customer-facing work, internal thought leadership on emerging business transformation and asset management topics is needed. Flexibility to participate in ad-hoc activities across all stages of the sales cycle is a necessity.

The role works closely with the Global APM leadership and will have a significant opportunity to influence the shape direction of the APM group globally.

 

What You Bring to The Team:

  • Qualifications
    • You will have a 4-year BEng or BSc (Eng) degree or equivalent experience.
    • A Post Graduate Qualification or certification in asset and reliability management or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge/Experience
    • You will be regarded as a Physical Asset and Reliability Management thought leader amongst your peers.
    • You will have at least 10 years of experience working in Infrastructure and asset-intensive organisations. Additional experience will be considered a bonus.
    • Additional experience working in a consultancy organisation, directing the delivery of consultancy programs and projects, would be a significant advantage.
    • Relevant experience & education in at least one of; transportation & mobility, Energy & Utilities, Mining & Manufacturing, and Building & Communities.
    • Understanding of business process flows such as Investment/Business Planning, Work Management, Safety Management, and Inventory Management.
    • Strong understanding of asset management and reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and industry standards.
    • Demonstrably good report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
    • An understanding of asset information and information governance approaches.
    • Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills in either consulting or as a senior stakeholder in an asset-intensive organization.
    • IAM / CAMA certificate and/or diploma status.
    • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required. Regular office visits are encouraged to harbor a close-knit, well-functioning team environment.
