Payroll Specialist (EMEA)

 

 

Location:

Madrid (Spain) or London (UK) – Office-based position

 

 

 

Position Summary: 

This is a full-time position based in Madrid or London. In this position, you will be part of the international Finance team based in the Netherlands and you will be reporting to the Senior International Payroll Manager based in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands.

 You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of countries within the EMEA region.

 

 

We will rely on you for the following:

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of on-cycle payrolls within tight deadlines.
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of off-cycle payrolls including severance packages.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation, balancing, and transmission of all vendor and bank interfaces/reports of payroll-related data.
  • Responding to all colleagues’ inquiries.
  • Manage relationships with various stakeholders (i.e., Finance, HR, etc.) and the payroll provider to ensure end-to-end process excellence.
  • Complete SOX controls established to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Responsible for process documentation and update for the processes owned ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, collective labour agreements, and company policies.
  • Performing reconciliations and audit tasks for monthly payrolls.
  • Support various internal and external audits.
  • Continuously look to improve the efficiency of day-to-day payroll operations through work process improvements.


 

What you will need to have: 

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in an international environment.
  • Experience in more than one European Countries.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in every aspect of the role is essential.
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors (desired but not essential).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a team member with a proactive approach.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience in managing internal and external stakeholders including local payroll providers.
  • Respect for confidential information.
  • Intermediate to advance MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Available to travel.
