Position Summary:

Bentley Systems is seeking a talented individual to become a valued member of our successful team as an Application Engineer (AE) for our Transportation solutions.

Our Solution Engineering team is a strategic partner to the sales organization and responsible for building a compelling vision of the Bentley solutions for our users and prospects in some of the largest organizations in the world.

As an Application Engineer, you will serve a vital role in the Solution Engineering organization as a Civil Transportation product specialist who prepares the necessary content and datasets, delivers presentations to users and potential users to showcase product and solution capabilities, understand their requirements and articulate this knowledge to the rest of the organization. 

Your Day-to-Day:

• Assisting Account Advancement team in the sales cycle from start to close of an opportunity.
• Create effective presentations and demonstrations that illustrate the capabilities, workflows, and value of Bentley Civil Transportation applications to users. 
• Engage directly with users to conduct discovery sessions and define requirements.
• Supporting product and license sales with benefit oriented, feature specific demonstrations that promote Bentley solutions for Transportation Digital Twins in close collaboration with our sales team, articulating technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
• Contribute to written proposal development and submission.
• Prepare and deliver relevant feedback to Product Teams to improve our products (from product issues to user needs).
• Understand Civil Transportation industry design standards as well as methodologies and make recommendations for conformant product configurations.
• Collaborating on local software requirements and standards development
• Stay updated on Civil Transportation industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.
• Maintain awareness of relevant industry best practices and government regulations. 
• Actively participate in relevant industry conferences and trade shows and be recognized as an industry leader.
• Collaborate with marketing team for Product & Solutions positioning in the market.

What You Bring to The Team:

• Construction Engineering degree, or IT degree or equivalent
• 3+ Years relevant industry experience, incl. knowledge of Transportation workflows and processes in delivering infrastructure projects covering any of the asset lifecycle stages such as design, construction, and operation.
• Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information System) and Digital Twins
• Strong functional knowledge using relevant Bentley transportation design software such as OpenRoads Designer, OpenRail Designer, OpenRail Overhead Line Designer, Bentley Rail Track (InRail), MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and/or InRoads. (Power User Level) Experience with other related industry civil engineering applications such as Civil3D, MX, Trimble is beneficial.
• Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong people skills including managing client meetings and outcome critical discussions.
• Outstanding speaking, presentation, and demonstration skills.
• Ability to explain complex topics to audiences of all levels of knowledge and seniority.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new complex products.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills with the drive & commitment to own and deliver outstanding work.
• Able to adjust to changing work locations and situations.
• Fluency in English and another European Language (Spanish, German or Italian), oral and written; additional languages as a plus.
• Able to travel min. 25% of the time.
