Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications
Date: Jul 15, 2025
Location: Philadelphia, PA, US
Company: Bentley Systems
Bentley is creating an open platform for the built and natural environment to empower software developers to build digital twin experiences. We believe in advancing the platform for the collective success of the ecosystem and equipping the software developer community with open source and open standards. Our work has a broad reach ranging from the world’s largest construction companies to the US government to FOX Sports on NFL Sunday. Cesium has more than 10,000,000 lifetime open-source downloads, and the Cesium ion cloud reaches more than 20,000 monthly active developers. Cesium is in a unique position in the emerging ecosystem of 3D geospatial. Cesium’s open-source runtime engines combined with best-in-class 3D tiling pipelines provide our customers with the ability to build incredible 3D geospatial applications. We’re constantly innovating as we grow our collaborations with Google, Epic Games, NVIDIA, Esri and the wider Cesium customers and community.
We are looking for a colleague to lead our marketing and communications, creating original content and campaigns that shows what you can do with our platform, devising strategies to build and extend our brand, supporting conference presence, and overall fueling our growth. We strive for authenticity, promoting the work of our community, and education over advertising.
What you’ll do:
-
This role is one part leadership and one part execution.
-
You will facilitate a culture of openness and collaboration, internally within and among teams, and externally with the community that we serve.
-
You’ll run the systems and processes to enable us to continuously ship high-quality content that users want while transparently engaging all stakeholders.
-
You will collaborate cross-functionally, especially with Product Management and Business Development to execute our strategy.
-
You’ll ensure we maintain the voice that is essential to Cesium while also balancing priorities and meeting deadlines on simultaneous projects. This involves excellent judgment to what matters most, making small decisions that maintain the Cesium brand and authenticity.
-
Create compelling content to tell the story behind our products, showing what you can do with Cesium and Bentley for bridging the built and natural environment across industries, audiences, and channels.
-
Write and edit website content, blog posts, user stories, case studies, press releases, sales collateral, conference brochures, and anything else that adds value to our users.
-
We’re currently active on LinkedIn and Twitter. You’ll help us drive data-driven growth for authentic engagement.
-
Establish or grow metrics for the quality of content, audience growth, engagement, and content reach.
-
Advance our event strategy - from which conferences to target to determining our presence at each to organizing our own events.
What we’re looking for:
-
10+ years of experience in product marketing for B2B, SaaS, or in the geospatial field. Background in journalism or writing is a plus.
-
Past experience as a hand-on leader in a communication or marketing related role.
-
Fantastic written and oral communications skills, and the desire to create content.
-
Interest in and background in technology, and the ability to learn a highly technical product inside and out and educate both technical and non-technical audiences on it.
-
Love to interact with users, customers, and partners and amplify their stories.
-
Excellent knowledge of social media, online communication strategy, and online publishing tools.
-
A love of experimentation and iteration. You like to try new things and learn from them.
-
You obsess over priorities, creating impact, and constantly test them against strategy and goals.
This role is based out of our Philadelphia PA office. This role will be in-person most days.
