Position Summary:

 

The Senior Manager, Global Events Planning will work as a key member of the Account Advancement Group (AAG), reporting to the Senior Director, Global Chief of Staff. 

 

In this meaningful role you will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of internal and external-facing events supporting Bentley’s revenue-driving organization and efforts. This position is accountable for delivering best-in-class event experiences for Bentley colleagues, Users, and prospects. The successful candidate will join a highly skilled global center of excellence team and work alongside talented communicators and graphic designers supporting multiple cross-functional teams within Bentley.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

 

  • Event Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive events strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives. 
  • Event Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all events, activities, and programs supporting AAG initiatives, including but not limited to in-person and virtual workshops attended by Bentley colleagues and Users, User-specific events, the annual and Mid-year Sales Kick-Off, and more. Be the subject matter expert when it comes to virtual event technology – keeping abreast of new developments and innovations. Ensure seamless execution from conceptualization to post-event evaluation.
  • Budget Management: Create and manage event budgets effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost control while delivering high-quality experiences and measurable results.
  • Venue and Vendor Management: Identify and secure suitable venues for events, negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers, and manage relationships to ensure favorable terms and excellent service delivery.
  • Speaker and Content Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify and secure speakers, panelists, and thought leaders for events. Support with the Curation of engaging content and presentations that align with the company's messaging and audience interests. 
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze event metrics, including attendance, engagement, overall ROI. Provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders to evaluate event effectiveness and inform future planning.
  • This is an individual contributor position.
  • This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week.
  • This role requires communication with Managers, peers and other colleagues of the company in person, and/or by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
  • This role requires minimal travel.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

 

What You Bring to The Team:

 

  • Degree in marketing, events, or another related field OR relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of related event planning experience with a focus on events directly impacting revenue operations and/or user experience, preferably at a software company. 
  • Event management: Proven experience project managing and organizing events from concept and planning through to execution and review. 
  • Extremely effective and detail-oriented communicator and events professional; capable of interacting with colleagues at every level and across every business line, enhancing engagement from stakeholders.  
  • Comfortable owning and managing multiple projects and timelines with the ability to work under tight deadlines and re-prioritize as needed. 
  • Experience with event registration systems and event mobile app platforms. 
  • Experience with live event production including lighting, audio, video, and technical direction. 
  • This role requires minimal travel.
