Principal Product Manager, Platform

Date: May 12, 2026

Location: Philadelphia, PA, US

Company: Bentley Systems

Location: Hybrid or office-based, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Position Summary:

Bentley is creating an open platform for the built and natural environment to empower software developers to build digital twin experiences. We believe in advancing the platform for the collective success of the ecosystem and equipping the software developer community with open source and open standards. iTwin.js and iModels are at the heart of the iTwin Platform as the developer SDK and data format respectively. This software enables building infrastructure digital twin experiences—supporting Bentley’s digital twin strategy by strengthening the platform foundation that first- and third-party developers rely on to build, integrate, and scale solutions.

We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to drive the strategy and product roadmap aligned to business objectives for iTwin.js and iModels within Platform at Bentley, serving both first- and third-party customers building domain-specific applications on our software.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage product strategy, roadmap, execution for a part of iTwin Platform, aligned to overall vision and business objectives.
  • Be at the intersection of technology, people, and business - coordinating product strategy, integrations, development, and go-to-market campaigns.
  • Coordinate with first- and third-party customers to create joint opportunities that help grow the ecosystem and business.
  • Organize and derive market trends from customer feedback, community forum, and broad market input.
  • Perform internal and external research to understand developer and user needs, along with industry trends to improve the iTwin Platform.
  • Define and prioritize a strategic, large, cross-cutting product roadmap with inputs from a variety of Platform and first-party products. Ensure that the features are well specified, developed or adjusted at the right time, maintaining focus on their required priority and scope to drive maximum impact.
  • Travel is required 1-2x per month.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of product management experience, preferably working on highly technical software projects in developer platforms or infrastructure software. Background in AEC or BIM software is preferred.
  • Strong experience collaborating with and delivering software for developers. Prior experience as a software developer is a plus.
  • Credible to a world-class engineering team. You are tech savvy and understand the business impact of our technology.
  • Ability to combine iTwin Platform’s overall product strategy, key customer input, and broad market and community feedback with a detailed, executable product plan.
  • You are comfortable learning the infrastructure and AEC domain, and asking simple, direct, and fundamental questions to constantly test inputs and roadmap against strategy and desired business outcomes.
  • You are great at analyzing user and customer data, business intelligence, and usage analytics for our products, and producing useful insights to improve products and features.
  • Fantastic communication skills and interpersonal savvy. You can communicate with executive leadership as well as you can with engineers.
