Role Description:

 

Bentley is seeking an enthusiastic Media Relations Specialist to add to our public relations team.  You will be involved in all aspects of promoting Bentley Systems in the media and responsible for being a champion of our brand reputation.  You will work with the PR team to develop and execute strategies for obtaining press article placements and securing interviews.  Not only will you get to cultivate and manage press relations but also oversee the distribution of communications to the media including pitching case studies, articles, press releases, events, and supporting other public relations initiatives. As a Media Relations Specialist, you will be also be responsible for managing coverage reports, PR budget, and support corporate and regional press initiatives.

 

We are looking for a candidate to propose new and innovative ideas for disseminating PR content through social media outlets. This candidate should be a go getter, inquisitive, innovative, and an outstanding communicator who is ready for a challenge with a company with continued growth.

 

Responsibilities:

The Media Relations Specialist is primarily responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:

 

  • Write and pitch to publications and work with journalists to obtain article placements.
  • Set up and support press interviews.
  • Write press invitations, emails, and media advisories.
  • Distribute press releases and news alerts via media databases and platforms.
  • Publish and manage press releases on corporate website.
  • Curate and publish press coverage for corporate website.
  • Create press kits for events, topics, and projects.
  • Research and maintains editorial master calendar by collecting editorial calendars from top tier publications.
  • Manage the collection and creation of global coverage reports, produce quarterly and ad hoc coverage reports.
  • Research and collect Bentley coverage using media tracking platform and other tools; act as analyst to define media pickups and create reports with a focus on visual reporting and reporting trends.
  • Work with regional colleagues to maintain media tracking system, tag coverage, research, and updated media tracking platform keywords.
  • Manage and maintain global media list includes contact research and new publications.
  • Support PR team to create and maintain PR global Calendar.
  • Support the spokesperson training program including program content development.
  • Manage event related collateral and content for press kits and collect press biographies.
  • Facilitate post-event follows up, attendance reports, and coverage follow up.
  • Support PR and regional teams to set up and host media interviews including post-interview follow up.
  • Manage event sponsorship programs, sponsor benefits, recruit sponsors, and collect materials.
  • Support the team with event platform usage and other event related tasks.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Marketing, Communications, Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • A minimum of 2 years plus experience in the field.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical skills.
  • Computer skills must include practical experience with MS Office with excellent Excel skills. Database software and SAP skills are a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work cross functionally with team members, stakeholders, and vendors across multiple time zones.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and very detailed oriented.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and quickly adapt to new processes.
