Director, Creative

 

Location: Flexibility to be home based, office, or hybrid

 

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Creative Director to develop and steward the vision, creation, and execution of design, across all external and internal touch points, digital and print. As Creative Director, you will have ownership of all visual brand execution, and provide creative leadership and standards for the brand.  You will also oversee the delivery of all essential creative projects from ideation through execution while keeping the team engaged and inspired.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • In partnership with the Chief Design Officer, own the visual identity of the company, be the source of truth and the critical eye
  • Translate the visual identity into clear and comprehensive branding guidelines for design execution
  • Oversee the implementation of the visual identity across all user and colleague touch points: website, event signage, product collaterals, advertising, videos, etc...
  • Lead and develop the creative team; build up and curate an ecosystem of external resources to complement internal talent
  • Bring new, creative ideas and approaches to our marketing – including new ways to deliver authentic and engaging experiences
  • Partner closely with internal clients as well as peers in Marketing, Digital, and Products through the development of our design system
  • Present and promote creative solutions to business partners with clarity and intent
  • Develop a rich culture of creative analysis to inform future design programs
  • This role will require very minimal travel – average two times a year
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

 

 

What You Bring to The Team:

  • 10+ years’ experience in print and interactive design
  • 6+ years leading a creative team at an agency or in-house
  • Fluency with modern design software, for various media (2D/3D illustration, picture and video editing, animation...)
  • Established design analytics programs to inform decision-making
  • Experience in studio and distributed team models (hybrid operating models) is a plus
  • Experience working for/with a software company is a plus

  • Ability to explain creative vision and inspire others, but also solicit and incorporate feedback
  • Highly collaborative yet decisive
  • Modern aesthetics, with demonstrated talent for colors and type
  • Ability to give evaluative judgment, distinguish between "good" and "great" work and nurture teams to deliver results
  • Fluency in human-centered design process
  • Strong sense of ownership, for visual identity and visual design process
  • Predictable and dependable, able to deliver exceptional work in given timeframe
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Strong leadership skills, able to set direction, build trust, influence, and lead often under tight timeframes and conditions
