Position Summary:

 

As a project manager you will successfully plan and manage Bentley technical projects through all phases of the project lifecycle to time, and within budget.  You will also be responsible for understanding/managing the user expectations and contractual obligations, sharing the project outcomes with the technical leaders, identifying and booking the required resources, and developing the schedule to ensure timely completion of the project.  You will also maintain the Bentley project quality standards (Bentley Solutions Methodology – BSM: derivation based on PMI and PRINCE2). 

 

You are responsible for ensuring the BSM-associated standards and processes are followed throughout the project, as well as providing evaluation, risk assessment, and working with the technical team to achieve resolution of project issues and identifying further opportunities within the project.

 

As a project manager, you will assist the Services Directors in all aspects of project delivery, developing a strong spirit of co-operation and collaboration through continuous liaison with various Bentley teams across the organization.

 

This role is office-based but travel will be required for project meetings, scoping workshops, reviews, etc. The amount of travel expected is a minimum of 30%.

 

Your Day to Day:

 

  • Manage the full range of engagements from large-scale, multi-site deployments to multiple smaller-scale projects and consulting assignments.
  • Responsible and accountable for end to end delivery of assigned projects, to achieve the project objectives and outcomes.
  • Manage projects based on BSM principles. This includes, but is not limited to:
  1. Identifying and agreeing upon success and acceptance criteria,
  2. Planning and tracking activities, resources and budgets,
  3. Resource management,
  4. Change management,
  5. Stakeholder management,
  6. Risk management,
  7. Issue management,
  8. Conflict resolution,
  9. Management reporting,
  10. Weekly revenue forecasting and required project dashboards.
  • Manage stakeholders through effectively communicating project plans, progress, expectations, risks, assumptions and dependencies in a timely and clear fashion throughout the project.
  • Contribute to proposals by preparing the project scope, execution plans and cost estimates for services components; assist in proposal reviews.
  • Participate in contract negotiations where applicable.
  • Monitor project performance metrics for indication of deviations from the project plan and identify corrective actions to be taken.
  • Provide a smooth transition to software technical support teams upon completion of product roll-out at user site.
  • Conduct project lessons learned and publish appropriate items to the knowledge repository.
  • Provide accurate support for all invoicing, checking the invoices are correct before sending to the user; perform accurate revenue recognition (accruals/release from deferral).
  • Contribute to BSM best practices and tools for project execution and management.
     
    What you Bring to the Team:
     

Formal Education/Certification

  • University degree in a technical field, college diploma in a technical field, or relevant industry experience.
  • Certification in project management, such as PMP/PRINCE2 certification, would be an advantage.
     

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum 2-4 years of work experience in a project management capacity, ideally including software implementation projects.
  • Knowledge of Asset Information and operational management is a distinct advantage such as Data Handover projects i.e. Engineering Documents Management System, Engineering Information Management, Asset Performance, Enterprise Asset. Management and Operational Analytics.
  • Experience with Fixed Price and Time & Materials project.
  • Extensive experience within a customer-oriented project environment.
  • Proficient in Project Management software i.e. MS Projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong negotiation skills in managing project changes and scope.
  • Capital Intensive Assets industry experience is an advantage.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project.
