Position Summary:

Industries are digitally transforming, and the Business Development Director role is at the leading edge of this transformation journey with our accounts. 

The goal of this role is to lead industry digital solutions engagements and opportunities with Bentley’s users, with deep industry knowledge and experience. 

A major part of the role is Business Development to access the Eco-System of Transportation and Utilities along with its Owner Operators, key projects, and key users.

Serve as an ‘in context’ coach to Regional Directors and Account Managers who manage the selected accounts in 3 key areas – long-range account planning, discrete opportunity planning and execution, and structuring a collaborative win-with approach considering how money flows through Government Agencies, Government / EU driven funds, and infrastructure projects including its Eco-System.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Engage with users of key accounts to identify, generate, and nurture new business opportunities through industry solutions, leading opportunity engagements.
  • Map the Regionals / National Infrastructure Pipeline of projects aligned with Bentley’s horizons and engage with decision makers of these key projects to develop opportunities for Bentley solutions within these industry projects.
  • Act as the foundation and centre for industry information on trends, projects, and news, sharing information with the sales, marketing, and other Bentley teams.
  • Work with the Bentley industry/account-focused sales teams as the industry subject matter expert in envisioning the Digital Transformation opportunities for Bentley within these industries.
  • Play an active part in account planning for expansion and whitespace discovery within Key Industry accounts and winning new business from project eco-systems.
  • Regularly interact with government accounts in conjunction with the Account Managers.
  • Engage in strategic discussions by articulating ideas to evolve and facilitate the evolution of project workflows, using Bentley’s capabilities to solve business problems. 
  • Intentionally model, coach, and train AMs and RDs on how to develop business-focused executive relationships within the select accounts that deliver impact.
  • Align with the Global Industry Product leadership and act as the spokesperson for growth in the region, exchanging information with stakeholders and extended Bentley teams. Leverage the global Industry Solution team's capabilities and work closely with the technology experts on this local project pursuit.
  • Orchestrate activities across selected Bentley digital integration partners to build even deeper partnerships on selected priority plays.
  • Proactively builds and maintains a strong knowledge of Bentley's product landscape, solutions, and strategy in the industry of assigned accounts, as well as of the business priorities and potential threats the customers face. 
  • As a member of the Regional Leadership team, bring fresh insights and ideas on areas we can focus more on and share best practices broadly from local and overseas case studies.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ Years’ experience in Enterprise Business Development and revenue pursuit.
  • Experience in AEC, Utilities, and Government sectors is a must.
  • Ability to engage at the executive level within organizations.
  • Deep understanding of industry workflows and Bentley solutions alignment.
  • Develop plans, action steps, and timetables for projects; prepare realistic estimates of budget, staff, and other resource requirements. 
  • Creates solutions that make it easy for users to do business with Bentley Systems.
