Application Engineer - ProjectWise

Location: Office-Based / Hybrid- Mumbai

Position Summary:

Bentley Systems seeks an Application Engineer to work in a customer-facing role alongside a team of sales and technical colleagues, they will provide the technical expertise required to win new business and increase usage in existing user organizations. The AE is a trusted advisor and will be responsible for assessing prospect’s business and technical requirements and developing solutions that meet those needs.

By developing a unique relationship and understanding of both the Bentley products and solutions as well as the user needs, the Application Engineer plays a key role in our ability to use that knowledge in Account Advancement, User Advancement, and Product Advancement.

Your Day-to-Day:

• List the essential duties required to carry out this job.
• Maintain expert level of product knowledge
• Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users
• Perform value and benefit oriented technical presentations of Bentley products and solutions. 
• Create effective presentations and demonstrations that illustrate the capabilities, workflows, and value of Bentley applications to users
• Work with the wider sales team to identify and analyze business issues and opportunities
• Assist Business Development and Sales personnel in technical proposal development for prospects and existing customers
• Provide your experience and knowledge of user requirements to help product management to design and develop new products and services
• Engage directly with users to conduct discovery sessions and define requirements.
• Serve as the technical liaison between Account Advancement and User Success teams.
• Deliver presentations and provide support for corporate sales and marketing events.
• Contribute to written proposal development and submission
• Prepare and recommend scope of services for User Success to implement.
• Provide timely feedback on user interactions to improve sales and marketing efforts.
• Prepare and deliver relevant feedback to Product Teams to improve our products (from product issues to user needs).
• Work with Product teams to stay up to date with current releases of Bentley applications.
• Contribute to the Bentley Communities by posting application tips and/or answering user questions.
• Understand industry design standards as well as methodologies and make recommendations for conformant product configurations.
• Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.
• Travel within India up to 50% of the time on average
• This is a full-time role, based at home, in a Bentley office or a hybrid to suit your preference

What You Bring to The Team:

• 5+ years of experience in managing ProjectWise, BCDE, iTwins or similar systems like Autodesk Construction Cloud is required
• Presentation skills and public speaking experience is desirable
• Previous significant experience in a pre-sales capacity with constant engagement with users and potential users
• Comprehensive understanding of electronic document management with strong emphasis on engineering design
• Familiarity with relational databases, including administration, operation and maintenance with Microsoft SQL Server
• Excellent writing skills are a must, as s/he will be responsible for writing white papers and communicating product details and applications to the public
• Ability to communicate value and benefit propositions to audiences of all levels of knowledge and seniority
• Ability to successfully lead purpose-created teams and achieve their objective (RFP, proposal presentation, etc.).
• BIM digital workflow experience in both vertical (Buildings) and Horizontal Infrastructure Projects
• Working knowledge of Digital Construction Management Software such as Synchro or equivalent is a plus
• Working knowledge of civil transportation industry standards and methodologies is desirable
