Position Summary

The iTwin Platform team at Bentley Systems has an exciting new opportunity for talented individuals to join us in developing cutting-edge software for infrastructure digital twins. iTwin Platform is an open, scalable cloud platform that enables developers anywhere to create digital twin applications for the designers, builders, and owner-operators of the world’s physical infrastructure. Bentley Systems has exciting new opportunities for talented Software/Back-End Developers who are enthusiastic about leveraging bleeding-edge technologies to build and maintain software solutions for the Infrastructure Engineering and Construction markets (BIM). Our new colleagues will be responsible and take part in all the development stages of this software, leveraging agile methodologies, C++, and interfacing with the Cloud.

 

What You’ll Do 

As a software engineer for the Bentley iTwin platform, you will be helping to build mission-critical software that synchronizes engineering data with iTwins in the cloud, which are digital representations of real-world infrastructure assets and projects. These could be oil refineries, roads and railway networks bridges, power stations, and more 

 

  • Participate in all stages of the development process for the software.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Development Leaders, and other developers (internal and external) to connect our iTwin platform to infrastructure management solutions.  
  • Work with Agile principles to support a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery software development process 
  • Create solutions that synchronize infrastructure engineering data with the iTwin platform enabling better management, maintenance, and operational support of infrastructure assets.

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering or relevant experience 
  • 6+ years’ experience in software development 
  • Proficient in C++ software development, understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, and Design Patterns 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in the English language 
  • A demonstrable commitment to writing robust, testable, and maintainable code while actively giving and receiving feedback
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to maximize productivity
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting, refactoring, and debugging in Visual Studio,
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Git and version control concepts

 

Some Nice to Haves 

  • Experience in TypeScript
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum development practices
  • Able to analyze core memory management and evaluate tradeoffs to achieve optimal performance results
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes, including analysis and design, Application Program Interfaces, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management
  • SQLite database format and query language
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps

 

 

We are looking to fill multiple roles. So, familiarity with the one of the domain skills would be advantageous

  • Familiarity with Building, Architecture, Civil and Plant Domains and application file formats.
    • Revit, IFC, NWD, STEP
    • Smart3D, SPPID, PDMS, PL XML
  • Exposure to 3D modeling concepts and libraries
    • Geometry, Meshes, surfaces etc.
    • Parasolid or any 3d modeling SDK knowledge
