Position Summary: 

 

Bentley Systems seeks a talented individual to serve as a Consultant for our AssetWise Transportation solutions. We provide professional services to users of Bentley’s Asset Management software suite, used by owners and managers of roadway assets and other infrastructure assets.  

 

We are currently undertaking a wide-ranging high profile progamme across our user base.  The Consultant will primarily work as part of the dedicated programme team, collecting requirements, implementing, and testing solutions, creating documentation and delivering training.  This role involves working on complex challenges for both client and internal projects. The Consultant is also responsible for assisting more junior members of the team. 

 

This role will be based remotely as part of a larger, global, team reporting to the Director for Transportation Services. 

 

  

Your Day-to-Day: 

  • Participate in the solution definition of customer projects by translating requirements and processes into functional design, testing, implementation, customer training and go live support 

  • Facilitate and help manage system design and process workshops. Create project documents like process maps, system requirements, data standards, and training materials 

  • Act as an advocate for the end-user within the project delivery team 

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal users and stakeholders to analyze data and functional requirements and delivering requirements documents as needed 

  • Assessing progress against project delivery plans and report risks to the project team 

  • Serving as the conduit between the user community (internal and external users) and the software development team through which requirements flow. 

  • Identifying and validating business objectives and generating/proposing solutions that align with Bentley’s business strategy and standards. 

  • Assist with coordinating data modelling and data collection activities 

  • Seeking continuous improvements in implementation of processes and procedures and deliver independently or with the team 

  • Successfully engaging in multiple initiatives simultaneously 

  • Mentor and guide junior members of the team 

 

 

What You Bring to The Team: 

  • 4 to 7 years’ experience within a similar industry 

  • Ideally 2 years’ experience working within asset intensive industries, preferably linear assets, e.g. highways or rail. 

  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of databases (MSSQL, Oracle) 

  • Experience with SQL to:   

    • Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL 

    • Develop procedures and scripts for data migration 

  • Knowledge of other technologies would be advantageous e.g. Oracle, IIS, Geo-spatial services (WMS, WFS, Geo JSON, MapServer), Cloud hosting  

  • Understanding of data replication technologies and an understanding around Agile delivery techniques 

  • Experience working for Application Service Provider (ASP) or Software as a service (SaaS) company 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment with moving timescales and strict deadlines 

 

The following would be desirable: 

  • Software accreditation in chosen discipline. Eg. IBM Maximo Certification or equivalent; Agile DSDM Certification 

  • Knowledge of GIS and/or CAD  

  • AssetWise for Roads and Bridges or similar (e.g. ESRI Roads and Highways; dTIMS; AgileAssets; AASSHTOWare) 

  • Familiarity with Agile software delivery techniques  

  • Experience implementing and integrating 3rd party application
