Position Summary:
The experienced Senior Project Manager, Program Management, will initiate and lead cross-organizational projects and initiatives within the Operations team. This role will provide guidance to the teams, through excellent Project Management skills, that promote the company’s culture and will oversee the delivery of operationalization of the projects and initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing multiple software development product initiatives, via clearly defined projects, to produce results on time.
Projects mainly focus on Product and Solution Launches for new and/or major releases, internal initiatives that drive the business process or systems improvements, and initiatives that come from the Executive team.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Defining, shaping, leading, and delivering on large and complex Projects
- Managing and ensuring all aspects of a project lifecycle are delivered, including but not limited to:
- Defining requirements and accurately scope project outcomes, risks workshops, and product workshops
- Overseeing project plans including resource and cost estimates for the delivery teams
- Managing project issues and risks (including the development of issue resolution and risk mitigation plans), including where appropriate escalation and satisfactory resolution
- Change control and configuration management
- Status reporting through agreed reporting lines both in Steering Committee presentations and highlight reports
- Defining individual project goals and success metrics and identifying key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors where appropriate
- Nurturing a team culture of proactive communication, efficiency, and problem-solving
- Inspiring and motivating team members to constantly improve processes, relationships, and work delivery by creating a collaborative environment
- Identifying issues with current operating practices, and suggesting ways to improve operational and financial performance and efficiency
- Developing, building, and maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally to achieve project objectives
- Complying with appropriate Frameworks and Project Governance requirements to ensure best practice
- Managing multi-disciplined project team with matrix reports
- Delivering on accountabilities and KPIs agreed separately with the Director of Program Management
What You Bring to the Team:
- 5 + years of project/program/operations management experience
- Experience working cross-functionally with cloud computing engineering, sales, and marketing teams, or related technical fields with demonstrable experience in a Software and/or IT Services arena
- Knowledge of the end-to-end Product Lifecycle is an advantage with a focus on launching new products, services, and capabilities to market
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate on enterprise-wide initiatives and/or stakeholder groups
- Full project lifecycle knowledge and experience with demonstrable experience in managing the following: financial management, change control, milestone tracking, planning and reporting, quality management, or risk and issue management
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies based on Prince 2, ideally with Prince 2 Practitioner qualification, ISEB or APM qualified and Agile
- Experience in ITIL and Acceptance into Service processes would be desirable
- Efficient primarily across Microsoft SharePoint and MS Project, but also the MS Office suite; able to manipulate data in Excel Spreadsheets
- Advanced analytical, strong leadership, and excellent and creative problem-solving skills with expressed focus on quality within fast-paced and constantly changing environments
- Highly organized, great time management skills with strong project administrative knowledge and skills. Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and without supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships within a matrix organizational structure and successful in managing senior stakeholders and balancing conflicting priorities
- Experience in delivering projects end to end and in managing multiple projects concurrently
- The ability to work under pressure by managing your workload effectively whilst meeting agreed deadlines and shifting priorities
- Strong ability to remain calm in challenging situations
