Position Summary:

 

The role of a Project Manager at Bentley continues to evolve and grow as Bentley look not just to traditional project management skills of delivering projects on time and on budget but to also encompass the overall success and experience of the user and to ensure we have happy users and successful projects.  This role will first and foremost require the project manager to plan and manage solution delivery projects to time, schedule, scope and within budget from project start through to project close. Secondly, the project manager will need to manage on a continual basis the success and outcomes our user expect to derive from the delivery and productive use of their solution.

 

The project delivery is characterized by the traditional project management tasks and skills, in which the project manager will be responsible for understanding/managing the user expectations, assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying the required resources and developing the schedule to ensure timely completion of the project. The project manager ensures adherence to quality standards and internal Bentley methodologies.

 

The management of the user success on an on-going basis, deals with ensuring adoption and advancement of the solution, and ensuring the solution performs according to agreed standards. This all in very close communication with our user’s representatives and teams.

 

Your Day-to-Day for delivery projects:

 

  • Prepare project scope (how the project will be managed, assumptions, dependencies and constraints), execution plans and costing for services components of all proposals including the necessary MS Project plan – if asked to participate in proposal phase.
  • Manage all projects achieving baseline man‐hour estimate, excluding contingency, plus approved/agreed EAC changes and are on or ahead of baseline schedule (including approved schedule changes).
  • Define the resources needed to effectively execute the project.
  • Ensure proper and regular use and maintenance of the Enterprise Project Management & Professional Services Automation tools and data.
  • Agree project success and acceptance criteria with all involved parties.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using change management procedures.
  • Manage stakeholders through effectively communicating project plans, progress, expectations, risks, assumptions and dependencies in a timely and clear fashion throughout the project.
  • Manage assumptions, dependencies and constraints.
  • Identify and manage risks through mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team, and escalate as required.
  • Ensure that revenue forecasts are updated weekly for all active projects for a rolling 3‐month period minimum.
  • Review, manage and approve timesheets, travel requests, and expense reports for project team members. This includes the timely submittal of travel requests, time entries and expense reports for project managers.
  • Provide accurate support for all invoicing, checking the invoices are correct before sending to the user; perform accurate revenue recognition (accruals/release from deferral).
  • Provide a smooth transition to software technical support upon completion of product roll‐out at user site.
  • Conduct project lessons learned and post appropriate items to the knowledge repository.
  • Achieve appropriate customer satisfaction.
     
    Your Day-to-Day for projects aimed at our user’s success after initial delivery:
  • Define with our user various Advancement Roadmaps, that typically look 3-6 months ahead, and that will be aligned with our user’s business drivers.
  • Plan resources from various teams in Bentley to execute the plan.
  • Manage the execution of the various agreed activities.
  • Report regularly on current performance against agreed KPI’s, including status of reported issues.
     
    What You Bring To The Team:
     
  • Formal Education & Certification - University degree, College diploma in a technical field, or the relevant industry experience.
  • Around 5 years Project Management Experience required.
  • Certifications in project management desired (PMI, Prince2).
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Relationship Management: Able to develop rapport with others and recognize their concerns and feelings; build and maintain long-term associations based on trust; help others.
  • Ability to be a strong team player and communicate effectively among a diverse work team in multiple locations. Confident in dealing with technical experts, sales colleagues, engineers, senior management and working in the Technology field.
  • Communication: Able to clearly present information through the spoken or written word; read and interpret complex information; talk with customers or clients; listens well.
  • Planning, Prioritizing, and Goal Setting: Able to prepare for emerging customer needs; manage multiple projects; determine project urgency in a meaningful and practical way; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans; organize and schedule people and tasks.
