Legal Intern, Privacy and Data Protection

 

Location: Hoofddorp 

 

Summary:

 

At Bentley we are offering a unique opportunity for an ambitious student, currently undertaking an undergraduate or post graduate legal degree, to gain international work experience by completing a paid internship within the Bentley’s Corporate Responsibility team focusing on digital regulation (artificial intelligence, privacy, and data protection). This is a unique opportunity to gain in-house experience in a global technology company and develop legal and data protection skills.

 

Bentley’s dedicated privacy team works with every business unit of the company, including HR, marketing, compliance, all areas of the business, and the wider legal team. The successful candidate will work closely with Bentley’s Global Data Protection Officer and receive mentoring from experienced lawyers and professionals.  

 

Term: 6 months or Academic Year

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Support the privacy team in conducting privacy risk assessments and data protection impact assessments in relation to new or updated products and services.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal privacy policies, ensuring they align with the latest legal standards.
  • Collaborate with various business units across the company to collect and document information about data processing activities and data transfers.
  • Research and review global privacy legislation, providing insights of emerging trends, case law and regulatory developments.
  • Assist in drafting internal guidance documents, reports, and internal memorandums.
  • Help create and distribute privacy training materials and resources to enhance awareness and understanding of privacy practices within the company.
  • You’ll benefit from mentorship from experienced privacy professionals, gaining valuable insights and guidance that will help shape your future career in this field.

Qualifications:  

  • You’re pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in law, with a keen interest in privacy and data protection.
  • You have excellent writing, communication, and legal research skills. 
  • You’re proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and comfortable with learning new technology tools.
  • You are Fluent in English, and additional languages skills would be considered valuable.

Stipend of max. Eur 450/month on a full-time basis
