Summary:

 

At Bentley we are offering a unique opportunity for an ambitious student, currently undertaking an undergraduate or post graduate legal degree, to gain international work experience by completing a paid internship within the Bentley’s Corporate Responsibility team focusing on privacy and data protection. This is a unique opportunity to gain in-house experience in a global technology company and develop legal and data protection skills.

 

Bentley’s dedicated privacy team works with every business unit of the company, including HR, marketing, compliance, all areas of the business, and the wider legal team. The successful candidate will work closely with Bentley’s Global Data Protection Officer and receive mentoring from experienced lawyers and professionals.

 

Term: 6 months

 

What will you do?

 

  • Assisting in carrying out privacy risk assessments and data protection impact assessments in relation to new or updated products and services.
  • Helping to refine and mature internal privacy and data protection processes.
  • Liaising with various business units across the company to collect and document information about data processing activities and data transfers.
  • Reviewing and analysing new privacy and data protection legislation around the globe and other legal developments, including case law and regulatory guidance; and
  • Preparing internal memorandums and guidance documents.

What is expected from you?

 

  • A current student pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in law or a related area of study who has completed coursework, or has a strong interest in, the area of privacy and data protection law.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and legal research skills required. 
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills desirable; familiarity with other technology a plus.
  • English language skills essential; fluency in additional languages would be valuable.
