Position Summary:

 

The Strategic Technology Procurement team are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Strategic Sourcing Analyst to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of software and SaaS models, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills and analytical skills, and strong communication abilities. This role will be managing, optimizing, and overseeing Bentley’s software and SaaS assets and licenses while working closely with cross functional teams including DX/IT, finance, and legal.

 

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst is a professional responsible for managing, optimizing, and overseeing an organization's software licenses and assets. Their primary role involves ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, reducing costs, and maximizing the value derived from software investments. 

 

Your Day-to-Day:

 

  • Vendor Relations: Interacting with software vendors to provide support in renewals and resolve licensing issues. 
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generating reports and conducting analysis to provide insights into software usage patterns, expenditures, and potential areas for improvement. 
  • Policy Development: Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to software procurement, deployment, and usage within the organization. 
  • License Compliance: Tracking licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements, avoiding penalties due to under-licensing or non-compliance. 
  • Inventory Management: Maintaining an accurate inventory of software assets across the organization, including details like license keys, versions, installations, and usage. 
  • Scope Management: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and ensure they align with team objectives. 
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that potential issues are addressed proactively. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with stakeholders, keeping them informed about project progress and managing expectations. 
  • Optimization: Identifying opportunities to optimize software usage and costs, such as by reallocating underutilized licenses or recommending more cost-effective licensing options. 
  • Training and Awareness: Conducting training sessions or creating educational materials to raise awareness among colleagues about software and SaaS compliance and best practices. 

 

What You Bring to The Team:

 

  • 3-5 years of proven experience working in IT Operations, Procurement, Software Asset Management or related functions. 
  • Proficiency in using SAM tools and software license management platforms is preferred. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional, global teams. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing company objectives, requirements and environments. 
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. 
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory aspects of software and SaaS usage is preferred.
  • This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week, home-based or hybrid in Canada.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling, and meeting functions.
  • This role requires 1 trip per year to the corporate office in Exton, PA.
