Position Title: User Experience Designer

 

Location: This role is v-connected or in-office in Toronto or Exton.

 

Position Summary:

As a User Experience (UX) Designer, you play a vital role in helping Bentley create better experiences for our users. You will lead the design effort on various projects in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment – specifically on Bentley’s Digital Experience team. Your role is to design innovative and practical solutions to real-world user problems in the context of established user-centered design processes. You will work closely with team management, product management, users, subject matter experts, and software engineers to develop – and improve – experiences across many user touchpoints.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product Management to validate use scenarios
  • Design user interaction, workflows, and user interfaces
  • Create and validate personas and workflows
  • Conduct usability labs to validate the workflow with customers
  • Create prototypes and detailed interaction specifications
  • Translate usability and field research findings into design improvements
  • Successfully share conceptual ideas and design rationale
  • Create prototypes of different fidelity, following established guidelines
  • Act as a design thinking advocate, building and strengthening the design community at Bentley

 

 

What We Need from You:

  • A professional portfolio showcasing problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of fundamental UX design competencies (research, interaction design, usability testing) and hands-on experience of any competence of choice.
  • An eye for detail
  • Presentation and storytelling skills

 


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Factors, computer science, related field, or relevant experience
  • More than two years of UX experience
  • Mastery of user interaction design skills
  • Familiarity with field and lab-based usability research methodologies
  • Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems
  • Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form
  • Familiarity with the Windows and/or Macintosh Human Interface Guidelines is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
