Position Summary:


The SAP Business Solutions team is Bentley’s internal consulting function responsible for partnering with our business stakeholders to deliver our optimized processes, systems, and data capabilities in our SAP ERP platform. These solutions provided by Business Solutions are the core of our internal user's experience and enabling our business growth. The ideal candidate will be a primary liaison to the Bentley Systems business community leveraging technical knowledge and leadership to drive improvements to business processes and technology solutions in SAP and non-SAP products. This position is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, operation, and ongoing administration of our Finance Business Solutions.





  • The Senior Finance Solution Consultant will configure the functional aspects of SAP S/4 Hana Finance and integrate with other modules in SAP ERP, SAP CRM, and any third-party software.
  • Work with numerous levels of business users around the world to understand their stated and to-be determined business requirements and translate those into workable solutions in SAP Finance, new GL, and S/4.
  • Understand the problem, craft, and implement a quality solution working both alone and with other team members in the SAP Functional, Basis, Technical, and Project Management areas.
  • Provide second level support for existing SAP and Cloud tools, and work with business power users to develop and deliver training to Bentley end users.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency in the work process and innovative approaches to completing scope of work.
  • Manage the consistency of data, leading efforts on data uploads, custom reports, and process documentation, managing relationships with key internal functions to deliver enhancements and resolve system issues.
  • Assist in training users on processes and functionality of the systems and assist teams with system-related questions and needs.
  • Oversee interfaces in and out of the system of record to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Interact with internal business customers and other members of the team on integration and re-engineering opportunities.
  • Multi-task development, support and on-going maintenance projects and meet deadlines in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Deliver high quality, efficient solutions through innovative approaches to dynamic business processes.
  • Gather information, determine alternatives, create requirements, functional/technical specifications, estimate development hours, create technical design document to meet the defined business needs.
  • Work with the project team to ensure that all SAP designs are correct and that customizations are only made as absolutely required by the business. Our overall effort should be to keep our processes standardized by avoiding customizations but in case customizations are required then these solutions should be created according to SAP best practices.
  • Act as liaison with business customers in troubleshooting system problems, investigate, analyze, and solve software problems, recommend short-term/long-term solution, develop product modifications and plan to implement them.
  • Solve complex issues that arise with system operations, job monitoring, routine program modifications and performance tuning.
  • Formulate and execute positive and negative unit test plans and assist in developing system regression and performance test plans for enhancements or new releases in the various test and productive environments.
  • Expand skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with colleagues.



Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in the related field or relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience configuring and implementing SAP S/4 HANA Finance, General Ledger, Treasury and Accounts Receivable modules.
  • Minimum of 1 full life cycle implementation of SAP S/4 HANA Finance and General Ledger, from planning to configuration through go-live.
  • Requires detailed knowledge of SAP S/4, General Ledger, FICA, FSCM, Treasury, AR and AP modules and integrations with various other SAP and Non-SAP systems/modules.
  • SAP BRIM knowledge or experience would be a plus.
  • Payroll functional application knowledge and a strong understanding of the integration points is essential.
  • Must be effective in gathering requirements from the business users, know the appropriate SAP S/4 HANA Finance and General Ledger options and be able to strongly articulate the pros and cons associated with each option.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and can clearly and concisely state intent to business users, IT technical peers, and Bentley management.
  • Should have the ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations.
  • Requires strong attention to detail, urgency, focus, and discipline and have a customer-first mentality with demonstrated ability to improve processes.
  • Ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary efforts and communicate with technical and non-technical users.
  • Can work independently in a fast-paced environment; flexible, supportive, and adaptive to change.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
  • This role does not require travel.
