Bentley is creating a new purpose built intelligent substation design application to empower designers and engineers with a truly intuitive, connected, and collaborative experience. Our work will help utilities worldwide more efficiently and effectively build and maintain their substations.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager - Substation Electrical to join our team, contribute to and drive product development, and support product launch. This role will have a significant focus on electrical schematic & wiring features, but will support the full scope of design needs.
What you’ll do:

Manage and collaborate on product strategy, roadmap, and execution for substation products

Be at the intersection of technology, people, and business - coordinating product strategy, integrations, dependencies, development, and business relationships

Work with engineering/development to design, develop, and launch

Organize and derive market trends from internal and external research, customer feedback, and broad market input to improve and build new features and products

Facilitate alignment for a diverging set of inputs and people to converge on strong, bought-in decisions

Be involved in all stages of product lifecycle

Engage the industry as a Bentley representative

Build and manage the product backlog with the cross-functional team

Define, monitor, and analyze metrics for product functionalities and feed learnings back into product development process

Support the Product Marketing team to deliver product positioning and content
What we’re looking for:

6+ years of experience with substation design technical process and details in a consulting or utility environment

Strong experience with substation electrical schematic / wiring / protection & control design & construction

Experience with substation physical design & construction

You obsess over priorities, creating impact, and constantly test them against strategy and goals.

Fantastic communication skills and interpersonal savvy. You can communicate with executive leadership as well as you can with engineers.

You are likely to have a technical education, such as an undergrad or masters degree in electrical engineering, or you have equivalent proven work experience.

A professional engineering (PE) license is a plus

This role will require occasional travel and time zone management as part of a global team.

Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

Product Management and/or Software Development experience.

Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong presentation skills
