Senior Identity Software Engineer

Job Summary

Bentley Systems is seeking a talented Senior Identity Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science and at least 3 years of experience developing solutions using open standards authentication protocols, multi-factor authentication, Ping Identity, Azure AD, and other major identity platforms. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and Development: Create and implement identity solutions using protocols like OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and other IAM technologies.

  • Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate identity solutions into various applications and systems.

  • Security: Ensure that identity solutions are secure, scalable, and comply with industry standards and best practices.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to identity and access management systems.

  • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for identity solutions, including design specifications, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, security, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver effective identity solutions.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest IAM trends and technologies to continuously improve identity solutions and processes.

  • Support: Provide technical support and guidance for identity-related issues and participate in on-call rotations if necessary.

  • Testing: Conduct thorough testing of identity solutions to ensure they meet functional and security requirements.

  • Compliance: Ensure that identity solutions comply with relevant regulations and standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, and 4+ years of experience in information security, networking, and/or systems administration; or 6+ years of information security experience in lieu of a degree.

  • 2+ years of experience designing, building, implementing, integrating, and/or maintaining IAM and configuration management technologies in an enterprise-level environment.

  • Experience with Linux, Windows, and Mac system internals.

  • Experience with SAML, OIDC, and OAuth.

  • Strong understanding of identity and access management principles and best practices.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and integrating identity solutions into complex software systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex identity-related issues.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • 4+ years of experience in Java.

  • 4+ years of experience in Linux environments.

  • Experience with multi-threaded programming in Java.

  • Experience debugging problems in a distributed system.

  • Full-stack development experience.

  • Knowledge of LDAP.

  • Experience using AWS infrastructure.

  • Understanding of containerization.

  • Strong written communication skills to effectively document designs, specifications, and procedures.
