Position Summary:
Bentley is in the midst of a transformational journey to modernize business systems used across all business groups, to upscale our user experience and processes across the enterprise. The Digital Project Office is focused on partnering with our stakeholders to deliver world-class enterprise applications focused on streamlining our processes and user experience. To compliment this effort, the team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Digital Project Manager.
The successful candidate should have a strong knowledge of standard project management processes along with full life cycle experience in global enterprise systems implementations. This includes direct experience managing a wide variety of IT projects including enterprise business systems, web technologies, infrastructure, security tool implementations and 3rd party system integrations. Experience working in environments that include a mix of integrated on-premise and hosted (or cloud) enterprise solutions is a plus.
The Senior Digital Project Manager will work within Bentley’s Digital Project Office to ensure the success of Bentley’s Digital Project Portfolio through the creation of an environment that allows the teams to focus on their projects by providing clear prioritization, effective planning practices, efficient execution, and collaborative business group participation.
The candidate should also possess the desire and ability to gain a high-level understanding of the project’s goals, overall technical deliverables (not detailed architectural design or core technology knowledge), and general terminology included in the project’s objectives. This ability is necessary for general communication with the project team members, IT management and the Business Groups.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Contribute to the continued use and improvement of Digital Project Office methodologies, ensuring the core set of project practices are followed, with some additional and more detailed practices being used for strategic projects.
- Manage multiple projects in parallel using the tools and processes implemented by the Digital Project Office, including managing and tracking project tasks in alignment with stated project requirements and goals.
- Work effectively with international and diverse project teams participating from multiple locations.
- Hold kick-off meetings for all strategic projects, and potentially for smaller projects as appropriate.
- Facilitate team participation in defining and documenting project requirements, goals and success measurements. This may be accomplished through the facilitation of a project workshop.
- Acquire documented business group and IT sign-off for project start, agreement of requirements and UAT/go-live readiness.
- Report on project progress in a manner that is measurable, working with the project team to develop a high-level phase or milestone schedule including a minimum of design, development, testing, and go-live.
- Track project issues, and the resolution of those issues and obstacles, to ensure that each are addressed and allow project progress to continue.
- Report on obstacles or issues that represent a risk to project success, including escalation when a project has gotten off schedule or expanded beyond the agreed upon scope, while working with the team and proposing a solution to IT management as appropriate.
- Coordinate project testing and training with both IT and Business Group Colleagues.
- Work with the project team to develop and implement the project go-live plan, to ensure a smooth implementation into production for all IT Teams and involved business groups.
- Review and record lessons-learned for all strategic projects.
- Manage consulting engagement logistics, contract/SOW review, budget and invoicing, plus consulting resource participation in the PM functions listed above.
- Provide regular project status updates for all levels of management.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, a technical discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
- 7+ years’ work experience in an IT project management capacity, with full PM responsibility and accountability.
- Certification in project management, such as the PMP, desired.
- Understand and apply SDLC methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, & Prince2.
- Collaborates with the Senior Manager, Digital Project Office on the identification and implementation of best-practice project and program management processes, methods, tools, guidelines, and standards to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of successful project delivery.
- Experience with a variety of enterprise systems and managing enterprise-wide projects to implement new functionality or enhance existing functionality within these systems. Working in environments that include a mix of integrated on-premise and hosted (or cloud) enterprise solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- High proficiency in Windows and Windows Office applications (including Microsoft Project and SharePoint).
- Experience with Microsoft Project Online and ADO is also a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Flexible during times of change.
- Ability to work and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including c-level executives.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, mediation and team building skills, possessing diplomacy and business judgment.
- This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week, office-based, hybrid, or home-based in the US.
- Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person, and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling, and meeting functions.
- This role may require one trip per year to the corporate office in Exton, PA.
