Position Summary:
Bentley is investing in the next generation of its industry‑leading structural analysis and design software portfolio. We’re seeking a Principal Product Manager to own the vision, strategy, and market success of new products that will help structural engineers design and build more economical, safer, and more resilient civil engineering infrastructure.
This is a high‑impact leadership role with visibility across Bentley and the global infrastructure community. You’ll guide a cross‑functional program from early concept to successful launch and beyond, building a product on which tens of thousands of structural engineers will rely. If you are motivated by shaping flagship products, leading complex cross‑functional programs, and redefining how structural engineers work, this role offers a rare opportunity to do so at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for structural engineering analysis and design software products with a large, global user base. Oversee the entire product lifecycle process.
- Determine the right user segments to target and feature epics to build through an understanding of engineering and construction trends, structural engineering best practices, and user feedback.
- Find synergies across Bentley's technology ecosystem to build highly interoperable, AI-powered workflows that benefit our users.
- Help define and deliver go to market strategies in partnership with sales, marketing, and customer success, to include product packaging, pricing, positioning, launch plans, enablement assets, and success metrics.
- Develop and lead a globally distributed product team towards achievement of key performance metrics centered around product adoption, user satisfaction, and product quality.
- Represent our business and products at conferences, user visits, and thought leadership forums.
- This is an individual contributor role.
- This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week.
- This role requires communication with Managers, peers and other colleagues of the company in person, and/or by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
- This role requires approximately six weeks of travel per year, including both domestic and international trips.
- Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Computer Science, or a field of Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, business strategy, or a closely related role driving outcomes for B2B software or technology products.
- Demonstrated success executing market/competitive analysis, customer discovery, development of value propositions, and product roadmap prioritization.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional execution across development, UX, QA, documentation, marketing, sales, and customer success.
- Experience influencing and measuring business results such as ARR growth, product adoption, and customer retention and satisfaction.
- Ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear narratives, decisions, and actionable plans.
- Experience modernizing or evolving legacy software platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud‑enabled, interoperable, or AI‑assisted software solutions.
- Proven track record of managing complex, high-impact projects with strict deadlines and high expectations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex subjects to non-experts and communicate ideas effectively to executive leadership. Comfortable speaking to large audiences of technical professionals.
- Ability to analyze and interpret large datasets to generate actionable insights that improve products and features.
