Operations Manager

Date: Sep 18, 2026

Location: Exton, PA, US

Company: Bentley Systems

Location: Hybrid or office-based in Exton, PA

Position Summary:

Bentley Systems’ Law & Corporate Advancement (LCA) business unit is seeking a highly strategic, organized, and collaborative Operations Manager to drive enhanced organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

LCA is the steward of Bentley’s integrity, trust, and license to operate and grow. It houses core legal and compliance functions that protect the company and what it has built, as well as functions that advance the company and clear the way for what it intends to build next, like sustainability and education, government relations, and infrastructure policy advancement. The Operations Manager will report to the Senior Director, Insights & Business Partnership (IBP) within the LCA organization, and work closely with other business partners in the IBP team. IBP is the horizontal department across LCA, which serves as the connective tissue between LCA and the rest of Bentley — facilitating two-way flow of insights and collaboration to amplify, enhance, and accelerate Bentley’s success.

This role serves as a trusted business partner to LCA leadership, including the Chief Legal Officer, helping the business unit operate as a coordinated, high-performing organization. You will enhance outcomes and experience by designing, aligning, and improving how people, processes, information, and technology work together. The Operations Manager will lead key business rhythms and planning processes to develop greater clarity and alignment, facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ideation for greater organizational effectiveness, develop and refine processes and tools that unlock new levels of performance, and drive successful adoption of tools, technologies, and AI-enabled ways of working that help LCA focus on its highest-value activities for maximum impact. Your days will be diverse, challenging, and self-led, with much of your work determined based on the challenges at hand and the opportunity to drive true business value and further Bentley’s mission to reshape how infrastructure systems and critical resources are delivered and optimized.

Responsibilities:

Business Unit Operations & Planning

  • Lead the coordination for development, monitoring, and execution of LCA’s annual objectives and long-term strategic planning in a manner that aligns with the enterprise’s strategic priorities.
  • Support operations of regular LCA business reviews, including preparation of agendas and materials to drive accountability, alignment, and transparency.
  • Develop executive-ready dashboards, metrics, reports, and planning materials to support leadership decision-making.
  • Establish and continuously improve the operating rhythms, governance mechanisms, and management processes that support effective execution across LCA.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and business needs, being proactive in identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans.

Organizational Effectiveness & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Develop a deep understanding of the goals, priorities, workflows, and interdependencies across LCA's departments to identify opportunities to improve collaboration, communication, alignment, and organizational efficiency.
  • Organize and facilitate cross-functional conversations that allow colleagues to do their best work – deepening relationships and understanding of organizational context and ideating and solutioning to address shared challenges together.
  • Build trusted relationships throughout the organization and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Partner with department-level leaders and HR Business Partner as relevant to support effective operational initiatives and processes, including organizational changes and training.

Process Improvement & Knowledge Management

  • Identify and drive continuous process improvement to enhance collaboration, communication, alignment, experience, and overall organizational efficiency.
  • Identify, create and maintain solutions that support effective organizational knowledge management within LCA, so the right people have the right information at the right time to maximize opportunities. This will include oversight and management of the LCA tech stack, such as  shared leadership calendars, relationship repositories, and other knowledge management applications.
  • Collaborate with IBP team and others in LCA to develop and maintain a “knowledge center” platform that pools insights and achievements from the LCA departments to enable effective and timely consumption by other Bentley colleagues.

Technology Innovation & AI Enablement

  • Lead identification and implementation of projects to better leverage new and existing technology, including AI to improve productivity and business outcomes.
  • Act as liaison and strategic advisor between LCA and the Information Technology departments on core business transformation initiatives and technology solutions.
  • Foster responsible experimentation with AI tools, including copilots, agents, and other workflow automation technologies.

  • This is a full-time individual contributor role expected to work 40 hours per week.
  • Requires occasional domestic and international travel, estimated at up to 5%.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

Qualifications:

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in business operations, management consulting, organizational effectiveness, transformation, continuous improvement, strategy and operations, or related field.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational change.
  • Experience working with senior leaders and managing complex stakeholder environments.
  • Experience developing operational processes, governance structures, planning mechanisms, and performance management frameworks.
  • Experience implementing technology-enabled business improvements is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, business process improvement, or similar methodologies preferred.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand and apply a strategic mindset to identify operational needs and initiate projects that add real business value.
  • Communication & Relationship Building: Exceptional emotional intelligence and interpersonal effectiveness, with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Project Management: Recognized ability to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous projects, stakeholders, and responsibilities in a highly visible role with considerable autonomy.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to identify root causes and design practical, scalable solutions that drive business value.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven track record in influencing and building consensus without authority, and ability to navigate organizational complexity with diplomacy and sound judgement.
  • Technology Solutioning and Innovation: Experience and interest in identifying, procuring, developing, implementing, and using technology (including AI solutions) to improve business outcomes.
