Position Summary: 

 

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on learning experience with many core activities of the Bentley Ventures team, working in a high-energy and collaborative environment. The exposure obtained throughout will include but not be limited to new industries, business models, valuation methods, and research techniques, along with opportunities in diligence and M&A transaction processes. 

 

Your Day-to-Day: 

 

  • Research industries and software solutions based on Bentley’s criteria   

  • Review and analyze confidential information on potential acquisitions and create investment summaries, presentations, and memorandums outlining financial impact and strategic advantages for senior management and the Board.  

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and valuation of potential acquisition targets  

  • Participate in due diligence for potential acquisitions, analyzing in-depth operational aspects of businesses and performing complex analyses; prepare both valuation and operational models on potential acquisitions.  

  • Work with a high-energy M&A team across the globe.  

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.  

  • Coordinate with external advisors, bankers, and brokers.  

  • Maintain deal-related documentation and coordinate post-acquisition integration tracking. 

  • This is an individual contributor role.  

  • This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week. 

  • This role requires communication with Managers, peers and other colleagues of the company in person, and/or by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.  

  • This role may require minimal travel.  

  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).  

 

What You Bring to The Team: 

Technical Skills:  

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques (e.g., DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis).  

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.  

  • Experience with building financial models.  

  • Proficiency in translating unorganized data into thoughtfully structured analysis.  

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.  

 

Soft Skills:  

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.  

  • Advanced English written and verbal communication skills.  

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

  • Strong work ethic and ability to handle a fast-paced environment.  

  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn.  

  • Strong interest in technology, entrepreneurship, and finance and a tenacious attitude toward research.  

  • Collaborative by nature and not scared to challenge the status quo and put forward suggestions on how to improve existing processes.  

  • Previous experience in the IT or infrastructure sector is not essential but would be seen as desirable.  

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 2-3 years of complimentary professional experience (banking, consulting, advisory, accounting).  

  • Professional designation obtained or in progress/near completion (ACCA, CA, or CFA).  

  • Experience with financial modeling software   

  • Knowledge of industry trends and M&A activity.  

  • Familiarity with financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ).
