Bentley Systems is seeking a Manager - IT Purchasing, Contracts and Vendor Relationships to become valued member of our successful team in our Exton, PA global headquarters. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing solid relationships with IT vendors, as well as managing the contractual aspects of their agreements. 


While working collaboratively with stakeholders and vendors, the Manager-IT Purchasing is responsible for finalizing IT and business requirements for Software, Hardware, and Internet/VOIP Telecommunications products, and ensuring the products delivered are invoiced and paid in accordance with contracts and agreements.  The Manager is responsible for proactively engaging with IT sourcing vendors in the conduct of their business relationships with Bentley Systems, especially in the areas of contracts, policies, processes, and compliance relating to IT software and services. This role is also responsible for ensuring service level agreements are met and reports to the Vendor Management Office (VMO) Operations Manager.



  • Preparation, administration, and review of purchasing documents, contracts, MSAs, and contract amendments, working with Legal and IT Security and Compliance as appropriate.
  • Monitoring the performance of the commercial-sourcing agreements.
  • Acting as primary support for the Internet/VOIP Telecommunications function of the VMO.
  • Management of workflow and associated procedures including delivery, installation, payment, tracking, and reporting on recurring and non-recurring purchases made through the VMO.
  • Administering financial arrangements with vendors including liaising with AP to approve invoices, requiring performance/penalty adjustments, and internal chargebacks, where appropriate.
  • Recommending improvements to processes, procedures, workflow, and organizational structures to streamline contract management.
  • Establishing common goals between key stakeholders and vendors and driving communication between all parties.
  • Understanding and applying contracting best practices, negotiation strategies, and tactics.
  • Translating business and IT requirements to identify evaluate and select the right vendors to partner with Bentley management.
  • Analyzing trends in technology and IT, market and technology developments, pricing models and service delivery models.
  • The Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the VMO EMEA and Asia teams ensuring conformance with Vendor Management’s standard operating procedures within regions.
  • Leading the teams with procedures and policies that enable optimum performance.
  • Enhance team collaboration by empowering and developing the team with tools, technology and education opportunities.
  • Carrying out the mission and goals of the Vendor Management Team.



  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in vendor management of Internet Service Providers, Hardware/Software purchasing, and contract management.  Expert knowledge of IT sourcing, outsourcing, contract development and contract administration.
  • Outstanding knowledge of product and supplier base, and industry trends affecting supplier’s business in the categories managed
  • Outstanding negotiation skills and contract optimization skills
  • Ability to deal with confrontational situations in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain business relationships
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices
