Maintenance and Logistics Specialist

Position Summary

As a Maintenance and Logistics Specialist at Bentley Systems, your primary focus will be overseeing the daily operation, upkeep, and improvement of our facility equipment and systems. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment for our software engineering and business teams. While the core of this role is dedicated to proactive facility maintenance, preventative care, and contractor management, you will also provide supplementary support for shipping, receiving, and asset logistics.

 

Role Responsibilities

Building Maintenance (Primary Focus)

  • Equipment Oversight: Oversee the daily operation of corporate facility equipment and systems (HVAC, plumbing, light electrical) to ensure zero disruption to business operations.
  • Preventative Care: Develop and execute routine preventative maintenance schedules to maximize equipment lifespan and safety.
  • Contractor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for outside contractors, scheduling repairs and ensuring all work meets strict quality and safety standards.
  • Project Support: Lead minor construction, office reconfigurations, and workspace renovation projects from planning to execution.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive facility records, including maintenance logs and service reports, using modern facility management systems.
  • Emergency Response: Act as the first responder to facility-related issues, troubleshooting requests, and emergencies.

 

Logistics & Inventory (Supplementary)

  • Shipping & Receiving: Provide support for shipping and receiving operations, including the safe handling of incoming shipments (e.g., IT hardware) and outbound packages.
  • Documentation: Process shipping-related paperwork (freight bills, packing sheets) and maintaining general facility inventory levels.
  • Coordination: Liaise with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to support occasional logistical and asset-tracking needs.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Trade school certification in HVAC or plumbing is highly preferred).
  • Proven, hands-on experience in building maintenance or corporate facilities management.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • This role does not require travel.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with modern facility management software, maintenance ticketing systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Basic understanding of inventory tracking systems.
  • Forklift certification or experience is a plus but not required.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple facility projects simultaneously.
  • Great interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on internal customer service and vendor relations.
