Director, Product Marketing
Location: This role offers the flexibility of being home-based for qualified candidates in the United States
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Product Marketing to lead our marketing efforts across a portfolio of software products. In this role, you will drive the go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging for our products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product success, from development through market launch and beyond. Your focus will be on understanding customer needs, differentiating our products in the marketplace, and generating demand. You will manage and develop a team of product marketers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for product launches and updates.
- Define product positioning and messaging based on customer insights and competitive analysis.
- Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Engineering teams to align product development and market needs.
- Create product marketing content materials such as sales decks, data sheets, case studies, and white papers.
- Manage product marketing campaigns, working with the go-to-market and digital marketing teams to drive demand generation and awareness.
- Enable the sales team with training, tools, and content to effectively communicate product value.
- Analyze market trends and customer feedback to refine messaging and identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor product performance and adapt marketing strategies accordingly.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably in the software or technology industry.
- Proven track record of leading successful global product launches and marketing campaigns.
- Strong understanding of B2B software markets and customer needs.
- Experience in creating compelling marketing content (case studies, white papers, videos, etc.).
- Ability to analyze market data and customer insights to inform strategy.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring a team of product marketers.
- Travel 10-15%
- Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a SaaS company or with enterprise software products.
- Familiarity with Agile product development.
- Previous experience with infrastructure software companies.
- Experience with marketing automation tools and CRM systems.
