Bentley Systems is seeking a Managing Consultant for our Cohesive Companies Division and Ontracks Consulting group. As a Managing Consultant, you take responsibility for the work that you and your team members perform, actively seek new opportunities, and continue to expand on meaningful long-term relationships with your clients. Your time is spent leading project teams and mentoring resources to deliver the highest quality of reliable value-added solutions to our clients. You have developed trust and built confidence with your clients, which allows you to create opportunities for others within the organization.

 

This role can be working remotely from a home office in Alberta

 

Responsibilities

As a Managing Consultant you should be able to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

Project Work

  • Requirements gathering to ensure that solutions proposed address needs of the client.
  • Demonstrate an expert understanding of Maximo's technical and functional processes, by identifying and recommending multiple solution options, estimating effort for larger scopes of work, identifying potential risks, and proposing mitigation options.
  • Take ownership and manage the scope, expectations and deliverables for larger projects.
  • Be recognized as a leader by clients and by other members on your project teams.
  • Understand and own project risks, and lead your project team to address those risks.
  • Design holistic solutions that display an understanding of industry best practices.
  • Have expert knowledge and become specialized in multiple Maximo subjects, by demonstrating your understanding of the intricacies involved, based on multiple project experiences.
  • Take ownership of areas of opportunity identified with your clients, and take initiative to collaborate on potential solutions.
  • Mentor project resources by delegating small scopes of work and various deliverables within the projects you are managing.
  • Be an expert in Ontracks Project Implementation Methodology.

Business Development

  • Expand on building and maintaining relationships with past and current clients, to continue ensuring we are providing value, building trust, and developing a strong working relationship.
  • Become the Ontracks point-of-contact for your clients on your projects.
  • Actively seek new opportunities within your current network and existing client relationships, to help the company grow its footprint in the Maximo community.
  • Engage in various Business Development activities including, but not limited to, collaboration with the Sales team on RFP responses, co-presenting with clients at Maximo conferences, delivering Public Training, conducting Maximo assessments, beginning to build relationships with key IBM contacts.

Internal Contributions

  • Actively engage with your direct reports, by facilitating their growth and development, and provide constructive feedback/guidance.
  • Manage resource assignments and ensure optimal utilization for both direct reports and your
  • project team members.
  • Participate in recruitment activities, employee onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Mentor and support both Senior Consultants and peers (other Managing Consultants), with employee onboarding, new employee training and direct report supervision.
  • Collaborate on marketing opportunities including but not limited to blog posts, webcasts, public training workshops, client-facing events, developing repeatable solutions, updating Ontracks development practices etc.
  • Understand the long-term vision of the organization, identify gaps and areas of improvement in alignment with that vision, and lead/collaborate on initiatives to address those gaps and improvements. Own Internal initiatives that encourage continuous improvement within the organization.

 

Requirements for Managing Consultant

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience implementing IBM Maximo, or a comparable EAM system (SAP, Infor, Oracle, SalesForce)
  • SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) expertise
  • Experience leading teams during software delivery projects
  • Experience with project estimating, evaluating risk, and client management
  • Database experience (SQL Server, Oracle and/or DB2)
  • Windows and Linux/Solaris experience Java experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the USA and Canada (Once COVID restrictions are lifted)
  • Competencies should include but are not limited to, facilitating large workshops, proposing complex solution options, estimating effort for large projects, leading RFP responses, managing multiple projects of various sizes, and managing different project teams and resources.
