Position Summary:
Bentley Systems is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support agile delivery within our growing Data organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a data environment and enjoys helping cross functional teams deliver high-quality data products that drive business value. You will guide teams that include data engineers, analysts, and data scientists as they adopt and mature agile practices, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and outcome focused delivery.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate agile ceremonies for one or more data teams, ensuring sprint goals and outcomes are clearly defined and achieved.
- Coach teams to apply agile principles within a data context, supporting iterative delivery of data pipelines, models, and insights.
- Partner with Product Owners and Data Leads to maintain a prioritized backlog that balances business needs, data quality improvements, and technical work.
- Identify and remove obstacles that impact delivery, including data dependencies, infrastructure issues, or unclear requirements.
- Use agile metrics such as cycle time, throughput, and team capacity to help teams improve flow and predictability.
- Promote collaboration across data engineering, analytics, and data governance to ensure delivery of reliable and trusted data products.
- Encourage learning and experimentation through retrospectives and feedback loops.
- Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to share best practices and align ways of working across the data organization.
- Support adoption and effective use of tools such as Azure DevOps, dbt, and other elements of the modern data stack.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, with at least two years supporting data or analytics teams such as data engineering, business intelligence, or data science.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM or PSM I or higher) required.
- Understanding of agile delivery in a data lifecycle context including ingestion, transformation, modeling, and consumption.
- Familiarity with modern data practices and tools such as Azure Data Platform, Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, or Power BI.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with distributed teams across time zones.
- Genuine interest in helping data teams work more effectively and deliver meaningful business outcomes.
