Client Productivity Engineer, Virtualization

Position Summary:

 

The Client productivity Engineer role sits within the IT operations group and handles virtualization and cloud migration of DEV and QA workloads. It fulfils the Ops part in a DevOps environment and therefore works closely together with the software development and quality assurance teams.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

 

  • Propose and develop Azure based solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Guide DEV and QA groups in migrating their workloads to cloud environments
  • Administer and migrate legacy virtual environments (vmware/vmm)
  • Support Bentley Academy team with virtual environments
  • Administration and monitoring of the virtual infrastructure and workloads.
  • Responsible for documenting technical requirements & functional service configurations
  • Participate in Incident, Change and Problem management in an ITSM tool.
  • Any other duty as assigned by management.

 

What You Bring To The Team:

 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, HyperV and VMM technologies
  • Experience with other virtualization technologies
  • Experience creating and troubleshooting scripts (Powershell etc)
  • Experience with software development organizations would be preferred
  • Understanding of Virtual networking/storage
  • Server hardware knowledge
  • Troubleshooting experience of Windows 2008R2 and newer server systems.
  • Ability to plan, document, and effectively implement projects and systems.
  • Experience in a LAN/WAN and Windows Active Directory environment.
  • Knowledge of technical standards & security conscious best practices relating to change control and systems management.

 

 Additional Desired Skills:

 

  • Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPO) creation and management.
  • Knowledge of general accounting, engineering and manufacturing procedures/processes.
  • A good working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, & WMI.
  • Experience with supporting Dell server hardware.
  • Industry certifications such as: MCP, A+, Network+, etc.
  • ITIL foundation certification.
