Location: This role can be Office-Based or Home-Based or Hybrid.

 

 

Position Summary:

Bentley’s purpose is to advance the world’s infrastructure for a better quality of life. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Public Relations, to oversee a team of public relations professionals and develop public relations strategies that drive awareness of Bentley as the leader in infrastructure engineering software.

 

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies and plans aligned with corporate goals and objectives, ensuring a positive and consistent public image.
  • Craft compelling messages and storylines that effectively communicate the company's purpose and leadership.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure positive coverage.
  • Oversee the creation of impactful press releases, articles, and communications materials.
  • Oversee the planning of media interviews and PR events.
  • Collaborate with executives and spokespeople and prepare them for media engagements and public appearances.
  • Monitor media coverage and results, tracking impact and deriving insights to refine PR strategies.
  • Manage issues and coordinate with internal subject matter experts.
  • Manage crisis communications activities to mitigate reputational risk.
  • Manage and motivate the PR team, setting objectives and monitoring performance.
  • Oversee PR agency relationships to ensure successful outcomes aligned with goals and strategies.
  • Monitor and report on relevant industry trends, events, and opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, legal, investor relations, and other departments to ensure cohesive external communications.
  • This role requires minimal travel.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

 

 

What You Bring to The Team:

  • 5 years of experience in a PR leadership role within the software, technology, or infrastructure sectors, preferably in a publicly traded company.
  • 10+ years’ experience working in PR or communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align PR strategies and plans with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing brand reputation and securing positive media coverage.
  • Experience elevating and leading teams & working with executives on communication strategies.
