Bentley Systems seeks a talented individual to serve as a Technical Consultant within the Asset Reliability Team. The Asset Reliability Team provides professional services to users of the Bentley Asset Reliability (APM) software suite used by owners and managers of infrastructure assets. The Consultant will collect requirements, implement solutions, provide documents and training for users, and promote solutions to new users.  

 

Location: Burlington, Ontario office, but will consider working from a home office in Canada

 

 Responsibilities

  • Work with Implementation/Reliability consultants to assist them in developing and documenting requirements relevant to interface and data conversion work
  • Understand the Bentley Asset Reliability application functionality Assist Project Managers and Consultants in developing project scopes
  • Develop interfaces between Bentley and other systems
  • Develop or Customize new or existing Bentley Applications to meet our Users business requirements.
  • Develop reports
  • Deliver fully tested solutions to the user, work with the user to implement them, support the user through UAT, and migrate into production
  • Perform data conversion using Bentley Asset Reliability Data Loader tool, and enhance the tool as needed
  • Report status of assigned tasks and enter time and expenses on a weekly basis
  • Submit product issues to support and how to follow the support process as required
  • Deliver standard Bentley technical Asset Reliability courses
  • Use all required software development standards and procedures including source control software.

 

Required Skills

  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • 2 - 5 years work experience in application development, integration, customization and/or data conversion work, with EAM/ERP/CMMS applications
  • Technical competence with C#, WCF, XML, SQL Server, Oracle, and MSOffice
  • Solid programming skills
  • Experience with Software Version Control tools
  • Strong analytical and customer relationship skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret user business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Ability to manage expectations and deliver to a defined scope
  • Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and work with remote teams and managers
  • Strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work under the pressures of deadlines, work on several projects simultaneously, and balance the time and effort between those projects given the prioritization.
  • Ability to lead design workshops within an existing solution framework
  • Flexibility to cope with change due to external events
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

 

Desired Skills

  • Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) or a comparable designation
  • Previous consulting experience
